Looks like everyone's moved on from this, but posted this at the end of yesterday's thread, so am bringing it over here.. about Is This Love. Hmm is it just me.. I'm liking the sound quality of the vids taken by the audience a little better than the one from take40. By sound quality, I mean how his voice sounds.. not sure how to describe the difference.. maybe a bit smoother or something in the audience vids, while the take40 one is clearer, but raspier or something.. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Which is the truer sound? It would be great if someone cleaned up the audience voices in the ones recorded by the audience members. Can anyone recommend the best of the audience vids to post? I posted the link from take40 to my real life FB page, and one of my "friends" just wrote a comment saying she likes Adam too, but the video says private.. never knew she was a fan.. goes to show ya never know. ETA Is it possible that the re-posted take40 version will be taken down again if I post that one? |

Just guessing why, but, the professionally done recording may have a direct feed from the mic, whereas the sound on the fan vids is picked up from the air. There may be added resonance from the room which makes the voice sound a bit richer. The slight rasp may be masked by the sound of the audience as well. Hope our sound guys can chime in on this one. |

pi and cassie, I'm not technical at all, but the fan vids give a much better impression of what Adam actually sounded like in the room. Adam was adjusting the sound quite a lot. From where I was standing in the middle of the room, there was reverb and it sounded fantastic. He did have a grittiness to his voice, but it didn't sound like strain, rather an effect he could create. I'd describe it as husky. I much prefer the fan vids.
