Lambert fick Hartwallarenan att smälta (Ola Södermark, hbl.fi, Mar 23, 2013)

Lambert got Hartwall Arena to digest
Rock Star is close at hand to describe Adam Lambert as a live performer.
It's been over two years since Adam Lambert visited Finland last. When was the concert at the Cable Factory. Last Friday was played before a nearly packed Hartwall Arena. It says a lot about how great Lambert has been since last time. And how popular he is in Finland.
When I reviewed Lambert's latest album Trespassing last spring, I wrote that he had a way to go to the big stadiums. After tonight's concert, I am prepared to eat those words. Letter by letter.
The Lambert is a great singer, I already knew. His strong high notes have become a signature. But he is at least as great entertainer. So obvious on a large stage that it feels ridiculous to say it.
Confidently, he talks to the audience relaxed about alienation, vulnerability and that nothing is hopeless. Abrupt shifts between topics and fortunately without sounding like a cliché.
Even song material rises a few steps when it is performed live. I find myself wondering if Lambert only produced hits during his career. So it feels at times when his own songs outshine the covers he makes. Who had such been expected that Lambert would make its own version of Hot Stuff? But the biggest surprise is probably that it is one of the cover songs that work best.
Tonight only doubt is a pair of misplaced reaggestycken in the middle of the concert. Otherwise Lambert shines with hit songs like If I Had you, Never Close Our Eyes and Fever to the audience's deafening cheers. A murmur that also celebrates Lamberts interpretation of Broken English to Finnish boyfriend Sauli. Just such a thing.
Rock Star is close at hand as described by Lambert as a live performer. Glammigare and more humble than most. Which is a big plus.
