"True" is number 1 dance album in US too now. It is holding at #4 on all albums for the US --- and if it can hang on a bit longer, Avicii will have a strong debut. It does not look like he will match Daft Punk's amazing sales week from earlier this year -- but that was unprecendented for the US> First EDM album to score Billboard #1. The timing of LMD is really good. With "Get Lucky" doing so well on radio, and "Wake Me Up"/Avicii having possibly the biggest US EDM hit ever, the combo of Avicii magic+Nile's guitar+Adam's vocal may be just enough for a neo-disco song to crack US radio. This is one of those cases where the combo of 3 artists who have CHR cred in their own right plus represent 3 different formats -- Avicii EDM + Nile funk/RHY + Adam HAC/Adult POP -- could make this song a multi-genre play on US radio. > In the US and Canada -- which are not EDM friendly markets -- having Adam on this track is not small thing. Most HAC and Adult Pop stations/PD's love Adam and AI alums -- so it could get them to play an EDM song they normally would pass on. These much maligned formats are key to getting a track like this way up on the Billboard charts. All this track needs is to book some serious sales in the US this week! ** It all makes me wonder what would have happened if RCA had picked "Pop The Lock" for Adam's second single?

Virg Glamhopper virg1877 1hYay! RT @talcvids: *\o/* RT @valilac: US iTunes Popularity #LayMeDown @avicii @adamlambert @nilerodgers #True twitpic.com/ddxdhf Does anyone know what the "popularity" measurement consists of? LMD is the MOST popular but WMU is higher on the charts.... The pop bars are based on sales -- declining weighted average. The reason LMD is #1 is because you are not looking at the "Wake Me Up" single which is by far more popular right not. The one you can see is the album track. Look at all the Avicii track -- not the album. WMU is #5 on iTunes right now.

I hope it's okay to post this from IDF regarding Adam in Korea:
All of this has reinforced to me yet again how easy it is for established radio darlings to achieve hit after hit simply through the power of repetition. Adam happened to strike it lucky here with IIHY, thanks to the Cass beer ad campaign, but I think many of us would agree that he has superior songs on Trespassing that would be even more popular---if they could only be heard by the public at large on a regular basis.
Here's a link to the actual post on IDF: idolforums.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=696387&view=findpost&p=25936745Yes, look at the ones who do get hit after hit in the US. Radio and exposure. Take the idol winners as an example. Phillip couldn't have gotten any better exposure than the most popular event at the Olympics. Then radio followed. For his second single, he continues to get a lot of radio spins. Lately, he is the best selling singles seller. Scotty got radio play, but not a lot, so he had moderate hits. Lee got very little exposure and almost minimum radio (did he get any?), so you know his story. Kris got tons of radio spins for first single, so he had a pretty good hit. Very little after that. Kelly and Carrie get tons of radio play, and both of them are everywhere, esp Carrie. What does it take to get those radio PD's attention, anyway?

Q3, are you still guarded as far as LMD becoming a single?
