Queen + Adam Lambert at The O2 arena
Queen + Adam Lambert are to play The O2 on 17 January as part of an extensive tour of the UK and Europe early in the New Year.
Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday 3 October.
Queen first teamed up with Adam Lambert in 2009 to perform the band's rock anthem "We Are the Champions" on American Idol's season eight finale. Lambert and Queen partnered again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast. In the summer of 2012 they performed their first live concerts together with three sold-out shows in the UK at London's Hammersmith Apollo as well as concert appearances in Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
Now the winning combination of Queen + Adam Lambert follows with what will surely be an equally triumphant tour of the UK and Europe. And Lambert is keen to alert fans of the show changes that can be expected.

John Watson @john_watson_ · 17m Queen and honorary frontman Adam Lambert are set to play seven UK dates early next year www.smoothradio.com/music-news/queen-announce-2015-uk-arena-tour-dates/ … #ClassicRock North East, England
Queen have announced a string of UK performances with honorary frontman Adam Lambert in January as part of their European tour.
The band will team up with the American vocalist once again to play seven dates across Britain beginning in Newcastle and ending in Nottingham.
Guitarist Brain May hinted at what fans can expect from the upcoming show on home soil.
"We have a very interesting set design. It's big and daring. We're going to do it to the max. Each time we've worked with Adam with our music, he's just the most incredible front man."
Former American Idol contestant Lambert has been standing in for the late Freddie Mercury since 2012 – a choice the band seem ecstatic with.
Roger Taylor added: "He's sensational. He has this amazing range, 'cause Freddie (Mercury) had a great range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality. It is very comfortable.”
Queen and Adam Lambert will play:
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena - 13th January Glasgow Hydro - 14th January London O2 Arena - 17th January Leeds First Direct Arena - 20th January Manchester Phones 4 U Arena - 21st January Birmingham NIA - 23rd January Nottingham Capital FM Arena - 24th January
See the duo performing together below for a taste of what's to come...

Beyond excited for those going to UK/Europe shows!!! I can't believe it will be four weeks tomorrow since the last Auckland concert! For those who have not yet experienced QAL live - you will not believe your eyes and ears! It truly will be the most amazing concert experience you will ever have! Why does it have to be so expensive to travel to Europe from NZ? Why are we so far away from everywhere?! LOL. I had a quick look this morning, and it will cost over $3000 NZD to get to London in return airfares alone (well over $2000 USD) So will not be happening. But I'm not actually complaining....... I will be eternally grateful that they came to Australia and NZ!!! GOOD LUCK for those getting tickets - the ticket-buying stress is horrible, thinking of you all and sending positive vibes for the best seats for y'all! And now..... the countdown begins again! ETA: At least one kiwi will be in London that I'm aware of, and I'm so excited for @z_andz_netiri who thought she would miss out completely, as she was in Europe when the Oz/NZ shows were on, and thought she'd be back in NZ before the Europe shows! But she'll be in London on Jan 17! The O2 concert(s) will be spectacular!

And it’s official! It’s not in the cards for me to even contemplate crossing the pond to go to one of these shows, but I’m so excited for the European fans. Can’t wait to see the reception the show gets over there. Good luck to everyone trying to get tickets! But you know what I’m even more excited about? The timing of this tour means that Adam is now seriously under the gun to finish A3 by the end of the year. I think he may be the kind of person who works better under pressure. So Yay!! And I believe with all my heart that Brian and Roger and maybe even Rufus will be contributors to this album in some way.
Looking at Jan-February dates for the QAL, I think and hope that single will be released in early November so he has time to promote that single before he has to go to UK & Europe. And album will be in Spring next year.

It's been over 8 hours and I still can't believe I am going to 5 shows. I'm still in shock. I cannot seem to focus at work very well. Sooo thrilled for you - and looking forward to meeting you. I haven't had a moment to really get into ticket buying yet but will tomorrow. I've got FAMILY MEMBERS and FRIENDS all wanting to come this time (hard to believe but woweeeee!!!!!!!!) but I haven't had a chance to get it all together with them as to which concerts we might do. I'm relying on the fact that many tickets come out in stages and I'm also not worrying too much about where I sit (...............I know, I know,) but I saw the concert 3 times in the US from closer positions and came to the conclusion that, with that huge screen and the light show, it'll be a completely different experience. I won't be able to get all the diverse people to commit any time soon so I'm just going to roll with it. I know it's going to be brilliant anyway. Next year is going to be a blast, (in the UK too) I know .
