Adam Lambert News @al_Examiner Adam Lambert performs at AT&T Live Proud Finale - Check out what he said to me about Freddie! exm.nr/1o9HzbF
Last night in New York, Adam Lambert closed AT&T's 2014 "Live Proud" campaign at a special private VIP finale event. The event was a celebration of awareness, empowerment, and pride for the LGBT community. For the campaign, the LGBT community and beyond were encouraged to create unique memes that represent how they "Live Proud" and share those memes via social media. Five winners were chosen from the created memes to attend the event and meet superstar Lambert.
Hosted by Fashion Police's George Kotsiopoulos, the finale took place at the Highline Ballroom, where Adam Lambert performed an acoustic set including original songs "Outlaws of Love," "Trespassing," and Whataya Want From Me," as well as Queen songs "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," and "Another One Bites the Dust." Photos from the event can be seen in the slideshow above.
On his way in, Adam stopped to chat with Examiner about the campaign and touring with Queen. When asked about his "Live Proud" moment since last year's event he exclaimed without hesitation, "Queen!" However, he wasn't able to choose a single favorite moment, saying that all of them were equally exciting. He also spoke about Freddie Mercury and his sexuality. He stated, "Even though he didn't acknowledge that he was out as gay, I think that he was kinda outspoken about it. I mean, he joked about it all the time. He never really said 'no I'm not.' So I think back in the 70s and the 80s it was kinda interesting because the grey area was a bit wider."
Currently Adam is working on his third solo album, which will hopefully be released soon. He also goes back on tour throughout Europe with Queen starting in January. For those who haven't had the opportunity to see him perform live with Queen, his message to you is: "Keep posted online!"
