I had not even noticed. I think that Jason Aldean's opening week (278,000 vs an expectation of 400K) sent shockwaves through the music business. I think that Taylor Swift is likely to go platinum with her new album "1989" which releases on October 27, 2014. They have a very effective countdown singles strategy and the presale looks strong. If this works well, it seems likely that other artists will try to copy this power promotion strategy. I am not sure it will work for most artists.

He will be fine. ETA: Here is his SSB from the 2012 World Series...not my favorite performance of it, but respectful and heartfelt. youtu.be/5IYbH21V4MMSorry, if that is fine for you, you are a better person than I am. Yes, it started out ok, but I made it as far as "ramparts" and had to hit the stop button. Too many bum notes for my ears to deal with.

I agree, Geezlouise! Listening to that just made me love Adam a little bit more!

I finally found time to register and vote for QAL as Group Of The Year. Since I had to vote for all other categories and I have not kept up-to-date on what is "new in classic rock" (isn't this a contradiction?), I went to listen to YouTube records of all groups proposed for Newcomer before voting. The result: I voted for and became a casual fan of a bluesy group called NoSinner. Then I also realized they are from Vancouver! I might even go listen to them live in November. I just wish they weren't playing this close to "Zombieland" on East Hastings (true fact, I just mistyped it as "Nastings", Freud anyone?) Here is their first song I found that informed my vote: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIhDILaxLxwShe is terrific kryptoman...thanks for posting....I am just on Salt Spring so perhaps she/they will trek to Victoria sometime as that is far easier for me to go to.... Love her sound, you might also like Ivy Levan, Adam tweeted about her a few months ago, loved it so much that I purchased some of her songs from Itunes.

I watched The Dave Matthews Band at Red Rocks yesterday. Man, he has a very cohesive band. I don't know much about them but they gave a great concert and looked to be having a blast playing together. That is probably the one thing I've come to realize about Adam's band, they don't seem to be playing freely; it seems they are concentrating a lot. I also hope that Adam decides to put some male singers behind him -- I thought everyone in Queen sounded so good when singing together. I have a feeling (based on nothing) that Adam will want to keep his performance "live" with no backing tracks when he tours with A3.
