OT but she did beat Adam FYE for #1 album in 2009 New release by Susan Boyle #16: -- SUSAN BOYLE "Hope" SYCO/COLUMBIA 18,659 And after 6 weeks JHud has 47K! Her last album shipped Gold, although it never made 500K. Scary times for album sales, unless you are Taylor Swift! Or JT or Adele. But I think that Coldplay's solid sales, Slipnot taking #1 last week and the strong showing this week for the Led Zeppeline's remaster releases may signal that rock is on an upswing. And that is a good thing!

I was thinking when Adam and Queen tour Europe in January that maybe they could take out I Want It All and put in Hammer To Fall.
Just an idea.

Adam may never reach even say 500k units in a week. That said in this day in age of the mp3 age. People can just buy their album off itunes. But I guess Itune and buying your album online still equates to sales obviousley. So its not just Adam related, it is the case for every artist these days. Last year Rock sold more then Pop for the first time since 2010. Obviosusley you have to look at the form of rock, but its a sign things a re shifting. Not their is any real evidence to back this up. But I think EDM is on its way out, and Alt Music and Rock music is making its way in. If I am right their could be a niche for Adam, and if his label and management were smart, Adam could finnally explode into megastardom. Obviousley no one expects him to sell 500k-1 mill in one week. He is just not the type of artist to do that. He is a "big picture" artist, someone who sells out arenas and stadiums around the world. But not neccessarily an artist who has a big radio presence, or sells massively. He is not the only kinda artist who has kind of success. That said though I am hoping for at least One MEGA hit off A3, that not only resonates with Adam fans but universally. And puts him up their with The Gagas, Swifts e.t.c. Where he deserves. Thing is with his fanbase is though, its so diverse, I think I have said this before, but at the QAL Concert in Auckland nearly a few months ago now. I have to say their was 85% under 30, and 15% over 40. Alot of people with their dates, like alot of under 25 year old guys with their dates, and me and my Parents ahem haha. But yeah He can also sing any genre pratically other then country haha. So some times its a curse in a way. But I really beleive pop/rock is his niche.

Queen's Roger Taylor Talks New Comp And Future With Adam Lambert
Queen is a rare band that divides its time fostering archival projects while remaining a top live draw today. Coming on November 11th is the group's latest compilation, titled, Queen Forever. The set features three previously unreleased Freddie Mercury songs: the duet with Michael Jackson -- "There Must Be More To Life Than This" -- recorded in the months before Jackson kick started the sessions that became his blockbuster Thriller album. Roger Taylor and Brian May -- with the full cooperation of the Jackson estate -- have taken the song and created a new Queen classic from it. Taylor told us that previously to this, it was never in the running for a Queen project: "‘There Must Be More To Life Than This’ was a Freddie song; it’s a very nice song, actually. We ended up doing our version of it, which is very stripped down and bare. Freddie and Michael alternating on vocals -- on lines. But we also. . . William Orbit did a mix in which they take a verse, each. They recorded it at Michael’s house in, I think it was ’81 -- around there. We had just been touring with The Game, and Michael had came to several shows. And then Freddie and he became sort of friends and he did this session at Michael’s house, and this is one version of that, so, it’s a nice song." Queen & Adam Lambert's 22-date European tour kicks off January 13th in Newcastle, England and wraps on February 19th in Zurich, Switzerland. Along the way, the band will take in stops in Scotland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Denmark, and the Czech Republic.
