Talon, I have always been under the impression that Brian wrote Show Must Go On. ??? If you were going to credit one person...it would be Brian. Putting all the interviews together Brian did *most of it* He has said that he heard this synth movement that Roger and John were doing and he felt it was something important so he took that as the basis and created the rest of the song. However Freddie and him collaborated on lyrics - mostly Brian wrote a draft of sorts and Freddie changed some around here and there. SO for some reason I have a hard time crediting JUST Brian with it.Hell I should actually make it all 4 considering the basis is Roger and John. It's always tough for the albums after A Kind Of Magic as they were credited to all 4. And the albums before although credited to just one had collaboration throughout. Some are easier than others though such as I Want It All which was definitely Brian given all interviews and likewise Days Of Our Lives was definitely Roger I agree with Talon on this/ Brian has spoken at length about TSMGO and he give the credit to all of Queen. Roger and John created that beautiful chord sequence that is the foundation for this song, and Freddie contributed a portion of the lyrics. Freddie and Brian developed the theme together. This is based on an interview with Brian.... IMHO it is a Queen song. Just an aside, it is also one of the Freddie recordings I most admire -- done on one take, his first time singing the song when he was quite ill.

Here's a short clip Instagram vid of Helene singing WWTLF and Adam is standing next to her. I really hate he has to share this song.......but it is her show. lol.....fingers crossed he finishes it out bold and beautiful as always. instagram.com/p/whN12QFy3J/Just a guess -- Helene start the song, and Adam then will come in for the "big" section. I think this could be gorgeous.

To those of you preemptively crying about a duet, I skimmed last years show and would like to make the following points: 1) It's HER show, and she performs with all of her guests. 2) She is an extremely talented lady. 3) Adam will probably get all of his glory notes. The whole point of the performance is to sell him to the German audience, after all. 4) This clearly won't be an unrehearsed mess like the Lady Gaga duet. 5) Why not have something different for a change? We already have over 30 versions of WWTLF. We will be getting 20+ more. 6) A lot of last year's guests performed multiple times - one song solo, another song with Helene. That might be true again. We'll see. So long story short, chill out, relax, and put the claws away. 3 hour show. I am sure we will get more than one QAL song. I think the duet will be beautiful!! I love Adam's duets. He is a great duet partner and always shines. Don't know Helene from a bar of soap but am sure it will be lovely and if it's not. It's one song. Everyone was pretty meh about his duet with Cindy Lauper and it ended up being gorgeous.

(DITTO) I think that this will get more notice because Helene is part of it. And her fans appreciate someone who can sing. Is there a better way for Adam to acquire new fans? And I am sure there must also be a solo song -- something more upbeat I hope.

Hmmm this is Helene from 2 months ago. It is a highlights from one show. It looks very Pop to me. Sure there are covers of other songs, one Rock and the Titanic theme, but overall, does not look either Country or folksy to me. Maybe she is a victim of being over analyzed by music snobs, the same people that over analyze reality show winners or Queen's new vocalist? (Not referring to you, clematis. I know you are trying to explain her.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=f38YUxOH13MLOL, she's like the Eurovision Song Contest rolled into one person!
Great observation!

They are really having to promote this NYE concert. It would be a hard sell to get me to this event on NYE -- I prefer low-key NYE with my friends, being part of a locked-in audience at midnight would not be appealing to me, having to deal with the crowds around the event, etc. BUT if this was in the US, in the midst of Time Square, and I could go to NYC versus London, I would be really tempted -- but only for Adam. There are only 1,800 seats -- so why so hard to sell this one? Here's the thing, if it is going to be on TV anyway, and it is going to be freezing & crazy out and about in London, and if putting up with all the "crazyiness of being in that spot for NYE" you don't even get to see the fireworks, then why go?! I can see why people want to stay home! The London concerts are sold out, so it has nothing to do with QAL. Plus, the tickets' sales really don't matter! The money for this show is coming from TV's advertising dollars. Biggest show in UK = plenty of money from sponsors! I agree about the primary revenue source but they still need to fill the venue for the show. There have to be 1,800 passionate Queen fans in London who will brave the crowds and miss the fireworks for this concert and who have a bit of spare money for an expensive ticket. They are still selling floor tickets and are only back to Row K center balcony. The restricted view seats are back to Row J. And the upper level is still available. In the meantime, they sold over 40,000 tickets to the concerts in January. So they really have no lack of fans. *** Perhaps it is the drink limit!?
