I like many kinds of music but still enjoy remembering falling in love with rock and roll because of shows when I was a kid such as "Happy Days" and "American Hot Wax." Here is a great song by Little Richard -- we have discussed his hair recently. Long Tall Sally, a Little Richard co-write, was released in 1956 and was his biggest hit. It has been covered hundreds of times. Little Richard was one of the founders of rock and roll. His singing style was primarily influenced by gospel music. He combined it with r&b themes and boogie-woogie piano. His shows were some of the first to be performed before a racially mixed audience. A person with many struggles, including drug and alcohol abuse and bisexuality that is difficult for him to accept, he has gone back and forth between secular and sacred music many times over the years. He still performs at age 82. Oh, I love this one! People talk about Adam reminding them of Elvis (and that is apparent in some performances) but there is also some Little Richard in there -- perhaps it got to Adam via Mick Jagger.

I can't post a video, but mine would be Elvis' "If I Can Dream." Such a powerful, meaningful song by the artist I still love so much. Here you go... youtu.be/xA142IsjQiE

I love Little Richard! With my son (when he was a teenager) we used to rock with Little R. music. My son wanted to know how to dance rock and roll

ETA: There were dinner + concert and dinner + concert + hotel packages for Toronto, NYC, Sydney and LA. I am sure there are more of them out there but the London packages I have seen have been very pricey. It is one way to get tickets to a hot concert -- plus have a very nice evening and usually a better deal than ticket brokers.

I just started to cry when I read the words "golden-voiced Adam Lambert." I am sure many of you will understand why. Finally. Wonderful descriptive words describing the best singer in the country. So proud of him.

I think Celine Dion did a duet with Elvis singing this song. Can you imagine if Adam in one of TV show DO duet with Elvis singing this song? All Elvis fans going to cry because they look so much a like.
