http:// instagram.com/p/wwqjSsuNKy/ all that needs to be done for the link to not embed is place a space in a specific place, for example aboce the space is between the // and instagram. This new auto embed is a huge help for anyone who posts from an ipad. That seems easy enough. I don't have an ipad and hardly ever post from my phone, but lots of people do and whatever is helpful we should do. Hey Q3......before you disable the auto-embed feature.....what do you think is best?

I was thinking that too. Anything that Adam directly posts on Instagram people want to see, or pics and vids from concerts, etc. It might be a time saving feature. I don't normally post all his "likes", but if that's the only thing we don't want posted here...maybe we can adjust it some easy way so everybody would know how to reconstruct it if they're interested. I think all Youtubes automatically embed as well....even tho I always post in the "insert vid" box. Sometimes we don't need lots of Youtubes on the feed....especially if it slows down some people's computers. I don't mind everything showing up here...but since this is a "news thread" we sometimes wander off the news as well. Yeah... in my post above I was talking about pics. For vids I'd welcome the links with spaces for a part of them, just because the pages freeze if there are too many. Otherwise the embedded YTs are fine (more scrolling perhaps but there's always that). But there's a difference, with YTs you can find the link to the vid from the BBCode on this site when clicking the 'quote' and changing it to BBC - or more easily, clicking the embedded YT to show up in another tab (I always use this and can get further or search from there if I want). With IGs it doesn't work that way, unfortunately. On slowing down the site, one thing that would really helpful would be to delete the video when quoting a post.

Why not Sam Smith??.. I have a feeling that Adam, for the first time, just might bring his first new single from A3 to SSL.Great exposure for sure..Hope we get that single by march LOL The SNL writers have nothing to do with selecting the performers so I doubt it was related. Why not Sam Smith? Probably because it would not be very funny. ** I bet we get a single before March.

Hey Q3......before you disable the auto-embed feature.....what do you think is best? I think the auto-embed function is nice and saves a lot of time. The extra space in the link will stop it, and is very simple to do and to remove to go to the link.

The new button </> lets you embed a lot of sources that were not supported before.... For example.... Tweets:

One thing more that came to my mind is the readers who want to save some pics. Is that something we need to consider too? I don't know but I assume they'll need the URL. If that's the case they need to learn to fish the URL from IG - or does BBCode on this site show the URL even when embedded with IG link? ETA I see an answer above, lol. Then the IG link with spaces is needed when posting. But it's easy to post it twice: another for the pic to embed and another for the link adding a space somewhere. It's the same link and no need to fish URL from the IG when posting. (Only pic savers need to find it from the BBCode...)

Hey Q3......before you disable the auto-embed feature.....what do you think is best? I like to put the space between the two t's of http because I think it looks obvious. I do this when I am quoting someone with an embedded YT that I don't want to totally remove. ht tp://instagram.com/p/wwqjSsuNKy/

I have never used the BBCode. Any reason I should? Is it better? I always use the regular "reply" not the "quick reply". That same little </> thing shows up in whatever code I'm using now, but I've never clicked on it before. I may have to play around with it. I usually just c&p tweets, "insert" Youtubes, and have now learned to "insert" various pics, including Instagram pics. I need to find a quicker way to bring over entire things. Like on Instagram pics, I can do the whole pic thing, but then I have to c&p the text that goes with it. Maybe there's a way for it all to show up in one procedure. I need practice. lol

I'm practicing. lol. It's OK for this Instagram to show up. lyndseyparker 7 minutes ago Unsurprisingly, my most popular 2014 Instagram pics are all Lambert- or Jedward-related... ht tp://instagram.com/p/w4jimDls_O/ (When I don't want it to link) Or when I do want it to link.... The actual link disappears and the pic posts. Then I guess if people want to post the broken ht tp in addition, then people can read the text and comments. http://instagr.am/p/w4jimDls_O
