Aww, guys, listen to this (Roger talks at 1:46:30): www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04x0ljy"Brian and I love being on the road, especially with our brilliant singer, Adam Lambert." "You're in love with Adam Lambert, aren't you?" "Yeah, I think he's very special. Very very special." "Are you still any good?" "I think we're better than ever."

Agree with you, Q3, about IWIA as 2nd song. Too slow! And I love IWIA! Also missed not having the Killer Queen banter that led into STL! :(

How sad is it that I am on a beach in Aruba reading every review I can get my hands on. Wifi is my best friend here, lol, I spent my evening watching streamed videos of the concert and I have to say I'm not a fan of Vision, I bet they bring back Now I'm here. Or I hope they do as It has more impact for a show opener. And Adam needs to have that 'One, Two POW effect for these Queen fans. Nothing is as sweet as watching their incredulous looks as they realize Adam is not the "karaoke' singer that the Classic Queen comment sections would have them believe. I also think there will be a smattering of glamberts at every concert, we have our ways. hahah. Ok and now back to the beach!!!! By the way I love this site! On the beach watching Adam......very jealous!!! I agree...Vision does not have that instant impact, nor do the next few songs that follow. Popular but not roof blasting like SCC! come on Queen give that audience a kick under their seat...and get them off their duffs. Concert 2 ---was Roger just blowing smoke.... regarding changes??? ***my first choice change is Here I Am versus Vision. ***second choice ...well Adam sporting a Sporran, would be a crowd pleaser. ***options on second choice ...Adam and Sporran and fringes....with twirls ....hmmmm maybe, maybe not ...Adam and Sporran and fringes and lounge chair.... cough couch... NO!!! You had me at Sporran!

I have nothing against Sam Smith... I think his voice is pleasant, if not very memorable.
What I do resent, though, is his success as the "safe" gay guy, even though it's certainly not his fault. He's safe because he's asexual and bland, so no one has to think about OMG GEHS HAVE SEX!!!! It's very reminiscent of the early 60s when black singers were trying to cross over into white radio...they were told to straighten their hair and basically emulate the sound and appearance of white singers.
With Adam, you have no choice but to get swept up in his sexual charisma and it freaks some people right out. How many tweets have we seen from straight guys confessing to their boy crush since QAL started? He doesn't apologize, he doesn't back down from who and what he is, and he just exudes sexual confidence. In our general society, the gay Alpha male is an anomaly. It may be unprecedented...I'm trying to think of a single openly gay public figure in any field who was or is viewed that way and I can't think of any.
Like Diana Ross in her era, a Sam Smith being successful may ultimately pave the way for someone like Adam to become a global superstar, even here in the conservative U.S. I hope so.
It's about damned time.

LOL Sam Smith? Perhaps you failed as a parent by not having her hearing checked as a child because I think she may have a hearing impairment. Im afraid many of us failed as mothers...I know I did - one likes EDM and the other loves rap, plus anything associated with me is "not for them"...and I tried very hard for many years, piano lessons, concert subscriptions for children and all for nothing...whatever...as long we are all happy... of course I was joking....
I am lucky in that my daughter and I have very similar tastes in music, movies, books...well life in general I guess. She is 20 and absolutely the best person I know and we enjoy hanging out together. I know our relationship is unusual and that I am blessed to have it. She loves going to concerts with me and saw Adam during the Glamnation tour and loved every minute of it...was not pleased that I went to Queen + Adam without her (but that could've been the trip to NY more than the concert LOL).

Talon, you may be right about "Drowse". I just think it would be so great to hear Roger doing it live I hope it appears.
If they add TSMGO, seem like they will almost have to take out an Adam song.
On IWIA vs DSMN -- I think this current collab does a much better job with DSMN (a better song for Adam), and I thought IWIA was just OK based on the livestream which is not a great way to judge.
In general, I would trade out IWIA for a pre-synth era rock song. I don't dislike it, just with 16 mandatory songs, I have about 100 songs I would rather hear in that slot.

I can't believe this is happening! After 6 years of following Adam and being puzzled as to why the rest of the world can't see his phenomenal talent they are at last getting it, at least in the UK. Now I'm actually happy that Adam did not have great success right from the start. If he had reached superstar status from his first album he may not have had the time or inclination to devote so much time to Queen and we would never have got to hear him sing these gorgeous songs. It seems impossible for him to get better but every time he performs he does!! Success is so worth waiting for! There are still people to win over. One of my daughters told me the other day he was fading away!! She has no knowledge of his touring with Queen outside of NA or the NYE gig. So I pointed out that he was the most googled person in the UK for the first 2 days of this year. She then said well he needed Queen to make it and couldn't have achieved that success on his own. There may be truth in that but I can't wait for this new album with the proper promotion to take the world by storm and turn Adam into a legend. I'm almost embarrassed to repeat this but when I pointed out that no one else has the range to cover the Queen catalogue she suggested Sam Smith!!! She thinks his range is just as good. I must be a failure as a parent. I usually stay away from these "range" discussions because being a great vocalist is not all about range -- but why not show her the numbers: Sam Smith Tenor Vocal range: C3-G5 (2 Octaves 4 Notes) People (including me) love Sam's voice because he moves into his falsetto so seamlessly. He only has one studio album so this is it for now. He has a very interesting voice, there's an ease with his voice that's rather elegant and emotional. Amazing mixed voice. His transitions are sometimes seamless and his mix sounds so much like his falsetto at times it's uncanny. Brit Awards 2014 Critics' Choice winner.Source: therangeplace.forummotions.com/t2765-sam-smithAdam Lambert Tenor Sung vocal range: E2-B5 (Yes, he can hit notes substantially higher and lower than Sam) Source: therangeplace.forummotions.com/t77-adam-lambert?highlight=Adam+LambertAlternate sources have Adam at 3 Octaves and a semitone B2-B5. (Diva Devotee for example) I believe the E2 is correct for right now, I bet his range increases in the next few years. *** Have your daughter read this.... www.divadevotee.com/2012/04/vocal-profile-adam-lambert.html
