bridgey, wiki says about 16,000. This is a very confusing venue. They can reconfigure it in many ways and there are several different venues in the same comples. Like most arenas, the maximum concert capacity (in this case 16,000) is for a small concert stage put in the center so there are no seats behind the stage and no seats with obstructive views. The Q+AL rig is a huge end stage so they can never have a capacity audience. They also can't sell some seats at the top of some venues (Paris) because you can't see the stage because of Queen's sound system. (They sold these seats at one concert venue, Las Vegas, without realizing it. They have not repeated the mistake.) I use the capacity from the biggest recent arena shows with a GA floor -- highest I found was around 13,500. Not every concert is reported. I spoke to the box office but could not reach the box office manager to get actual numbers here. Tickets are still available but they told me the arena will be full but not sold out. My impression is it will be similar to the IZOD show. This means we have a chance for great acoustics at this show.

Stats further up on this page indicate concert capacity is 14,000. Not sure how many tickets are gone. That is my guess based on past tours. I called yesterday and only could "buy" tickets in the upper level. This will be only the 3rd concert that is not essentially sold out.
Leed's was very close to sold out but is an odd venue many people in the UK avoid for concerts. Having been there once, I would not return or I would do GA.
Paris concert had close to no promotion and a weak local promoter. The French concert market is distressed right now due to the economy. With that, this was close to sold out. Not sure why they even did this concert -- but it might have been because of the recorded music catalog sales -- France is a Top 10 market.
Vienna is the one that surprises me. I thought this would sell out.

I was watching one of the ticket sites and noticed that the upper level opposite the stage might not have been released for sale at all... I am not sure, but the color used on the seating map for those seats was not decoded in the category/price menu. So, it could be like IZOD in that sense as well. Interesting that one of the news coverage articles posted somewhere above here said it was a sold out show...

In the "Queen: So it is Vienna Concert" article, it says: The town hall is the tenth time (!) Sold out! 13,000 fans looking forward to the concert of the year.
