As a guest singer Adam Lambert this time was in the service of Her Majesty - a risky endeavor that the smart US boy but mastered with flying colors. With his Queen were able to bring their trademarks "Glamour" and "bombast" back to full fruition. Old saying: You can not be in two parishes days with a butt. The Queen musical "We Will Rock You" in Hall F or queen live Homemade next door in the sold-out hall D. competition, so to speak: who wanted to spend his Sunday Evening free time at Roland Rainer Square, the choice is yours did. From the former quartet Freddie Mercury died in 1991, bassist John Deacon has been around for 18 years stays medial usable peep more of themselves. Stay Brian May and Roger Taylor, who tried in vain after the death of Mercury, the monster Queen to turn her back. An encounter with Free singer Paul Rodgers led to an unexpected revival and allowed the band between 2005 and 2008 a new album and two tours. Rodgers thereby dyed the songs with his bluesy vocals are not always sure text into a gray-blue, which made it impossible for any glitter and glamor. With Adam Lambert, dazzling showman and former participants in the American "Star Mania" other exactly "American Idol," the once traditional bombast show celebrates Queen but again cheerful Urständ. Yes, bombast! Mega-light show, smoke fountains, and the powerful stage for the six-member crew, which is dominated by a giant Q that shines, lase blitzdingst, interior accommodates an effect studded video wall and tilts also entirely in the horizontal position. The Q-loop serves as a catwalk that leads the audience to the B stage in the middle. All of this can be seen but only after the enormous stage curtain shooting to opener "One Vision" in height and the next, always bathed in fog and dry and the final interwoven gold rain, a good two hours Hitfeuerwerk - of "Another Bites The Dust" on "Under Pressure" to "Bohemian Rhapsody" - is ignited. A band that has released over 50 singles in Europe alone is inherently doomed to a Best Of, the scope for surprises is low, the willingness to take risks, unfortunately, as well. In the Spotlight the smaller stage, Taylor delivers with Sohnemann Rufus a drum rampage, just there filming the health ailing May and the audience with his camera at Selfiestick - food for his brand new youtube channel. The intimate setting he uses with sangesfreudiger support of the public for a touching "Love Of My Life", which mutates into a memorial service for Mercury, including nostalgic setter on the screen. Likewise duty: Its traditional guitar solo with hints of the "Blue Danube Waltz". Lambert enjoys considerable popularity in America, in Europe this is not necessarily so. His current role as Queen singer is also seen by the fans extremely critical. So much pressure is placed on the 33-year-old who openly acknowledge his homosexuality ever published two albums, and the third has just rolled. The hardcore queen retinue, which even today still for hours waiting for the room inlet, an almost complete standing at the edge of the stage, followed his appearances with Argus eyes. One thing he can not namely: imitate Mercury or even parody. But he does not do anyway. He quotes, and extremely precise. He has charisma and self-confidence, suggests Mercury typical poses, wearing leather clothes lolls on the red chaise lounge on a gorgeous gay interpretation of "Killer Queen", he wears - The Da Vinci Code-Alarm! - As it has done Mercury at the end of his last concerts tour, a crown on his head. But most important, the audience loves him. Lambert and manage what many namhaftere colleagues have failed: He hits all the high notes effortlessly, though with a voice that comes from the musical and contains a shot Conchita Wurst, but still. May (67), rock god and gentleman guitarist, is since Tuesday the flu, a cancer diagnosis a year ago was negative, an artificial knee joint he calls his own. Taylor (65) has lost its entire hearing and is dependent on both sides of hearing aids. When asked what was left of Queen today, Taylor said recently: "Queen, which are only Brian and I, and I am the only one who can still walk." May avoid the gentlemen the word "Farewell" as the domestic internal politics substantial administrative reform, but a further tour of this magnitude will probably not go out. On the other hand, Taylor said in a recent interview: "We are inventing new." After considerable 500,000 spectators were (at least 11,500 of them today in Vienna) lured into the halls with the ongoing concert series so far. "But we can not go on forever, because, you know, we too must die once" oracle doctorate in astrophysics May during last year's US tour. Seen in the final number was as it were a blessing for the two men: "God Save The Queen".

So I am way way behind and never going to catch up so I surrender and will start anew with next show.
Did see some comments that Adam seems to have a cold or something and listening to my usual diet of Save Me, WWTLF and STL I'd have to agree. Seemed particularly noticeable on WWTLF at the end where he was chopping off the phrases in a a way I've never heard him do with that song. But overall seemed more studied in his delivery like he was consciously pushing through. But am sure is only something that those of us who have heard those same songs over and over would notice. The tweets were effusive as always.
Any particular nuggets of goodness I should pay attention to?

[/quote] Not being picky, just noticed the difference and hoping Adam is not sick! I know nothing. But, I wonder...... Adam is so careful with his voice. If he were fighting a cold, it seems to me the last thing he would be doing is going ice skating and walking around in mid winter in Amsterdam. Just sayin'. I'm not an expert. And listening to streams I often have a feeling something was 'off' with Adam's voice (especially in WWTLF). Mostly when I see vids things get better. Maybe the streams are not so good and clear. Anyway, yesterday I was just in the Stadthalle and I didn't hear anything weird or wrong during WWTLF or any other song. Just the opposite - his voice was perfect. As I said above - I'm not a music expert and my hearing is not perfect either. But Adam sounded wonderfuly, IMO. And Brian and Roger as well - I enjoyed their solo performances very much and they sounded live much, much better than in videos or streams. I was listening to this audio I'd recorded yesterday again: mfi.re/listen/8vs965v0s1n2b1r/2015-02-01_-_QAL_Vienna_-_Drum_Battle_to_Bo_Rhap_(shimoli710).mp3 and I found nothing off with Adam's voice in it. JMHO
I had the same thought when I was in Leeds and Manchester --- both Brian and Adam sounded like they had something nasal going on at those concerts. I could hear it most when they spoke. Other people who where there commented on it. But then I did not notice it in the videos from those concerts so did not mention it. Tonight something was going on with Adam and crud. When he cleared his throat there was clearly phlegm there.
Yes, that was the only moment I had a feeling there wasn't everything okay. Not immediatelly when the "clearing" happened, but today, listening to the recorded audio.
But other than that Adam sounded perfect and I didn't notice any problems with his voice.

Katy is a great performer. Unfortunatley Adam maybe the whole world here lol. But he's not to everyone. Super bowls main demo is younger slated 18-35. But do Adam fans have to always demean or devalue ones success. Just because Adams not their or say Kp is not as talented. Katy deserves her gig. 62 mill followers. Its all about who has the biggest draw. And that's Katy. She's young, hot, fun. She's perfect for a half time show. Now PPl are entitled to like or dislike. But a few opinions don't really stack up next to like the masses. ATM Adam has just over 2 mil followers. Well he as big as draw as the Perry's etc. One day? Maybe but impossible to tell. Toh maybe the difference. But the combination of Queen and Adam as a collective could be a bigger enough draw. For the record I'm not necessarily saying anyone here is demeaning katys success. Just a general observation. Q3 comment: Please do not make generalizations about "Adam fans". You are welcome to disagree with a specific opinion but no one represents "Adam fans".
There have been numerous studies that indicated these numbers are not legitimate fans. Many are bots. They showed the acts as KP, Gaga, One Direction, the Beebs, etc as having really only about 25% true followers. If I remember correctly, followers can also be bought, to make the numbers more impressive. Adam had about 98% true followers. Don't ask me to find the study, but I remembered reading the stats, and thought way to dazzle peeps with false numbers.

Aren't you from New Zealand? Do you get the Super Bowl over there? I think the demographic for the Super Bowl is anybody who likes football or drinks beer or likes huge Sunday parties or anyone who knows someone like that which is pretty much everybody. Just an FYI, American hegemony is alive and well across the Asia Pacific region and yes, we do indeed get Super Bowl here, as does New Zealand, although it is not fully mainstream yet. Our ties to Mother England have been supplanted rapidly in the post WW2 era by the US for reasons you would no doubt be familiar with. At times it feels all-pervasive (and to me, as unwelcome on the whole as being a British colony), to the point where young children, if they watch a lot of TV speak with a noticeable hybrid of an American accent. Less than a decade ago celebrating Halloween gained momentum here and the streets are now filled with children knocking on doors asking, 'trick or treat'. Our rates of obesity are now on par with the US given the influx of US-based fast-food chains etc. Our movie theatres are dominated by US movies (it used to be British/European/American and our own), our radio now slavishly follows the US charts. Sport, is however, still our own and remains culturally unique - cricket and Australian-based codes, and is a national obsession. And, we do like our beer

4Ms - I just noticed you'e changed your name! The new one is much easier to remember!
I was waiting for the selfie vid - TY! That's because I seem to be obsessing over attendance and this video confirms that the upper sections across from the stage were draped. and then there is the very odd section left of the stage, with only a few people, I suppose that's the VIP section...otherwise it looked completely full.
