Given the fact that US DJ's routinely report months old happenings as if they are hot off the presses news and the fact that they make stuff up off the top of their heads on a regular basis I would give more credence to a fan rumor than anything a US DJ reported. LOL

Talon, I do love that you bring us what you have heard, I just don't quite believe it. So, just discussing the point, not wanting to discourage your posting it. On the point: The way I understood your post, it was US radio folks that presumably talked about this, right? In that case, I assumed they would have insider access to people telling them about US studio reservations. That of course can be a wrong assumption. My point was: In EU, just like Q3 says, they have studios or access to studios without booking something externally. And which next long tour are they referring to? Adam's TOH-tour? The small QAL SA tour? Something else in 2016? Why would US radio know about any such plans? Just does not sound credible from that standpoint for me. Maybe, they are recording the newest James Bond theme? Wishful thinking, I know. And that would probably be booked through the relevant James Bond production company, if that were to happen, not through QAL. And August would be a tad late for a music that needs to both embedded as well as shown at the end for the rolling credits, wouldn't it? All just speculation. Someone stop me. I know nothing. The story which I have only seen reported second hand -- is that a radio DJ on a US Radio program said that Q+AL had reserved studio time to see what might happen. If this report is true, it would have come from someone close to Brian, Roger or Adam -- not from any recording studio. *** I think it is most like someone mangling what Brian said -- Brian merely indicated that it was possible some time in the future.

You should Welcome to Adamtopia and loved your recap! www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sksav7Awwwww thank you for the warm welcome and I'm happy you liked my Cracow review Ivaalambert, I remember noticing you inside, with your comment (happy screaming), that you could go further with the goldenticket but were happy with first row right there! I was thinking the same at the time but followed friends to get closer. How nice to read you here. Now I only need a face to go with the memory. Unfortunately I mostly took pics of behind us in the line .... you were in front. Ayway .... if you would like some short vids of the crazy singing before entry, PM me :-D

Sam Smith happened very quickly and contrary to what I read here, quite organically. I'll preface this by stating that I am a casual fan of Sam's music and own it, but from everything I have read and heard, including in Sam's own words in video and audio interviews, his fame did not come quickly or organically. Sam has stated that his mother, who is very wealthy, paid many people over several years to make her son famous. He has stated that he was promised fame over and over, but after many attempts and failures, almost gave up on having a career in music. He has denied however, reports that his mother was fired from one high paying job for spending more time trying to make her son a star than doing her job. This "overnight and organic" myth is right up there with the "he came out publicly before his album release" and the "songs on the album are written about an ex boyfriend" myths. The latter Sam has also debunked publicly with his "unrequited love" statements.

However, it seems very strange that he thought of giving after all the "attempts and failures" because he is only 22 years old. His first hit with Latch came out in 2012 when he was only 20. Seems a tad impatient.

If you are interested, here is a very in-depth interview from last summer. www.thefader.com/2014/05/28/cover-story-sam-smith-opens-up-about-life-and-love"When I was 14 or 15, I was promised stardom. It was sad, actually. [My managers] would literally say, “You’re going to be this famous by next year.” I was thinking, “Great, I can leave school at 16.” They’d tell me things, and I’d go to school the next day and I’d be like, “I’m going to be doing this in a few months, I’m going to be singing a song with this person.” It never materialized, and I looked like a complete idiot. I remember when Lady Gaga was coming out, watching her and hearing her story of how she hustled in New York for everything. I remember thinking “Right, that’s what I need to do.” I left the management and I started writing music. I moved to London and wrote a song called “Little Sailor,” and one of the lyrics was Six different managers all filled with good intent/ Promised me the world but I haven’t seen anything yet. It was a song to myself to say, “Hold out for one more year, and if you’re still being let down and you’re still being promised the world and nothing’s happening, life’s too short. Go and travel and be a 20-year-old boy.”
