That's true, but pressure gets to everyone at times (remember when Adam said that adrenaline affected his vocals both on "Black or White" and at the AMAs?), even professionals, and my point was that the contestants who had to wait a long time to learn their fate were at a disadvantage compared to those who were told early on in the show. The anxiety would really snowball the longer someone has to worry about being sent home. I think there should be a more fair way to do it. I like pattihum's suggestion that the bottom two are revealed at the beginning of the show and allowed to sing their "Save Me" songs first. They wouldn't have to sweat bullets for an hour or more and then have to perform, while the others, knowing right away that they're safe, could relax and focus on their performances. and you don't think being told you're in the bottom two and now have to sing for your life would be stressful? Either way it's stressful, it's either on the front end or the back end but regardless these contestants need to have the ability to perform at their best at any moment.
I do remember Adam saying his vocals suffered from adrenaline but he still put on a performance. Adanna (spelling?) had shaky vocals when she was given the wild card spot but she gave a great performance that people remembered and she got through. Quentin's tears probably helped him more than they hurt him IMO.
I just think after 14 seasons these people know what they are signing up for and if they aren't ready for the pressure cooker they shouldn't audition. JMO.
But the bottom person always had to sing, even with the old system

Last week Quentin Alexander was called at the end as a wild card and then immediately had to sing. He was so overcome with emotion that he started crying at the end of his song. It's a lot of pressure for these kids! The music business is a lot of pressure. If they can't handle Idol how are they going to handle anything else in their career? This is the easy part IMO. Yes but it is a learning experience in my opinion. True some can handle pressure better than others but a lot of these kids are, well kids and have not experienced this kind of exposure before. Adam did as well as he did because IMO he was older and had quite a bit experience singing live.

JMHO if they have any shot of making it, these singers need to know how to sing when their adrenaline is high and they are stressed. If they can't do that, they should not be an AI finalist. Performers of all types have to audition and deal with pressure, competition and rejection. Not special for Idol. If you want to succeed in many things, you need to learn to do this. Make a speech, deliver a presentation, successfully handle a job interview, take the SAT or ACT, etc. Think about the people who make really important life-and-death decisions -- President Obama, heart surgeon, ER doc, police officer firefighter, pilot, many people in the military.....seriously it is only singing. Not everyone is cut out to be a performer -- it is about more than being a talented musician. It is also about being someone who can channel and use the audience energy to their advantage. Just looking at my favorite AI Season (the season of Adam), there is a reason why Kris Allen ended up in the final, surpassing expectations and beating Danny who was in many ways a more talented musicians -- Kris actually delivered his best performances at the end of the season while Danny choked and delivered "Scream On". >> Adam has said he could not have handled Idol when he was younger -- but I still think 18-year old strawberry blond Adam would have been a real contender to win Idol. Because he could sing, he could dance and he was not at all threatening.

No issue with Proboards or this forum right now. If you have a local issue -- slow data connection, no resources available on your computer/device, etc., the embedded images will load very, very slowly or not at all. **** Glamberts have pulled ahead but not by much! Vote for us! popcrush.com/britney-spears-britney-army-adam-lambert-glamberts-best-fanbase/ I've found that if I'm not logged into ATOP (on my PC), there are often missing tweets or photos (i.e. images of tweets). If I log in, they then show up. They USUALLY show up on my iPad, where I'm always logged into ATOP. I have a pretty fast Comcast connection, use Firefox on my PC, and am not using a ton of resources (usually no more than 3 tabs open at once). Sounds like it is a problem with you PC Firefox and an add on or extension. When you are not logged into ATop, you will get ads. If you have something that attached itself to your Firefox browser related to ads, it will mess all kinds of things up. More info here: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons Also check and see if you have a lot of temporary internet files on your PC.
