Do you have to lie about age when signing up for Spotify? Do they even ask? they did ask, but I think that's because I signed up using my daughter's student information so I could get premium at half price. I don't know if they ask unless you want the ad free version as a student. Premium is $9.99 a month and honestly even without the student discount it's worth it if you like music as much as I do. If you have a limited interest I would just use the free version and with that I believe all they ask you for is an email address. I honestly don't think Spotify matters for age because it's a streaming site where all music listeners are equally important. The more people stream the more revenue they generate and if you have a premium account their advertisers aren't targeting you anyway because you don't get ads. Money is money to them. I signed up for the free version of Spotify a few days ago and it did ask for my date of birth. I entered a date that made me 19

You know that dispose of part? That's my fail point - everything else is me to a T This might be a helpful hint: Get really really drunk ... that gets out the truth and decides what you really want to keep ... toss the rest. That helped me a lot the last time I moved. ETA: Plus the 5 years rule: If you didn't look at it for 5 years you will not need it ever again. (7 years for paper = tax purpose). But, but, but - I might fit in it again, if the style ever comes back........ and that gewgaw - well, my kid made it 40 years ago, and even tho it's been in a box for the last 38, it has always meant a lot to me. I know, you're right. I'd have to be really, really drunk

Sorry, I posted too fast. I know that Amazon sends their data to Nielsen. I still have to confirm if it is included in the Billboard Hot 100. I will research it and get an answer soon. :( Dang. Well, I'll watch for the answer! I want to know how Amazon is counted too! I much prefer Amazon to iTunes for buying music. iTunes only has album downloads whereas on Amazon I can buy a physical CD and for most current CDs a MP3 copy is also delivered to my Amazon Cloud which I can download on up to 10 devices. I prefer also having a physical copy of CDs because I can rip them in a much higher quality FLAC, WAV, or Apple Lossless format. And I have recently started listening to streaming music on Amazon Prime Music since I already had Amazon Prime. It may not have as many songs as Spotify, but it has more than I can possibly listen to in the near future. If I ever run out of music to listen to on Amazon Prime Music, I might consider spending another $10/month for the subscription version of Spotify. But I am far more likely to add Kindle Unlimited at $10/month if I every run out of books and audio books to download from the library.

Of course I actually do listen to more top 40 music than she does so I don't feel too guilty using her info

Haha....I don't think people are suggesting it's difficult to understand, rather - it's lame as hell and "puzzling" BECAUSE it's lame as hell. The song is WAY too disco for me but I hope it does well for Nile. Ok, can you explain to me what is "lame" about it? I like it precisely because it makes sense. I don't see anything lame about it unless you are saying making sense is lame? I really am trying to understand, not being sarcastic. It looks extremely low budget to me....supermodel writhing around in her underwear seems totally gratuitous. But maybe I just don't get it.

I don't see anything lame about it unless you are saying making sense is lame? I really am trying to understand, not being sarcastic. I can't speak for durberville, but I can tell you what I personally find questionable about the video: If I was giving a presentation about the gratuitous sexualization and objectification of women in music videos, this would definitely be an example I'd use. What's the big deal with objectification, you might ask. According to objectification theory, when women are frequently objectified, or treated as collections of body parts, other women internalize that view in a "self fulfilling prophecy" sort of way. Objectification in media like music vids is partially responsible for a huge range of issues that women face - body image issues, trivialization of women’s accomplishments, violence towards women, and the notion that women are readily available for sex. Source: Fredrickson, B. L., & Roberts, T.-A. (1997). Objectification theory: Toward an understanding women’s lived experiences and mental health risks. Next, you might be wondering how, exactly, this is measured in music videos. People who research this stuff ask the following questions: To what extent are body parts shown? Is there a focus of a gendered gaze? Are characters of a certain gender used as decorative objects? Do the characters fit into face/body standard ideals? How much provocative dancing and attire is there? Source: Aubrey, J. S., & Frisby, C. (2011). Sexual objectification in music videos: A content analysis comparing gender and genre. The new Chic video checks off almost all of the above criteria for objectification - all except using Karlie's character as a decorative object. There are numerous close-ups of her legs, stomach, butt, and underwear - definitely shots to hold the male gaze. She's showing much more body than necessary to convey "girl having fun casually listening to Chic records". She could have easily worn sweats or PJs and the message of the video would be much clearer. Karlie MOST DEFINITELY fits both face and body ideals. Her dancing/body movements weren't exactly Nicki Minaj in "Anaconda", yet they still read as provocative to many people - probably due to the way she's dressed and the way she was filmed. I'm not a prude who thinks that all sexualization should be removed from videos - I happen to think that in this particular case, it was wholly unnecessary, gratuitous, and out of place in the context of the song. My opinion. I did write a research paper on objectification in music vids about a year and a half ago, so I had those sources lying around on my computer

executive producer of the voice /UK I do not believe this is a random tweet. I think they are softly starting the buzz machine. First Z100 with Maxwell as the tweeter. Now this. But the part that makes me smile is that it appears this single must be HUGE and AWESOME with a great TEMPO and ADAM'S VOCALS AS GOOD AS EVER!!!

ETA: and everything queenofthenight said 8-)

executive producer of the voice /UK Why did he hear Adam's single? He isn't from radio. And besides, radio people in the UK heard the single a few weeks ago. Why did The Voice person hear it now? Is there something going on with Adam's single and The Voice UK?? They could have played it for him from the States or a Warners Rep could have played it for him. More intriguing to me is your question --- is there something going on with Adam and The Voice UK?
