Ok, I'm protesting the way they labeled their web site link for this article - ' i-enjoyed-throwing-my-sexuality-in-mainstream-americas-face-2" Really? That doesn't sound like Adam and it's not in the preview of the article. Just how sensationalized are they going to make this? Yes, not an Adam thing to say. BUT if SStone thinks it is a problem she will get it fixed. That is her job. Hopefully the protection patrol will stay off their website and leave it alone. EDIT - oh my, he really did say it!

<laughs> Not sure why photographers often seem to like shooting Adam with little dogs. Seems so random. (Plus, I get the feeling that if Adam ever *did* get a dog it would be something large and happy like a Labrador or Irish Setter).
Liked most of the interview otherwise. 'Tho I do blink a bit at the degree at which he tries to distance his style from 5 years ago. Admittedly it was a great deal of work to pull off. But he **loved** his spikes and glitter so much back then, and to see him so actively dismissive of it in print (TO ME) seems like he's cutting off a piece of himself. Because it was Adam being Adam, he thought it was beautiful, and he wasn't going to be swayed by what other people thought. Now I don't wear what I wore in my mid-20s either. But, I view that stage with fondness, not dismissal.
IMO YMMV etc etc etc

I stopped buying every magazine featuring Adam a while ago. But this one I may have to get. The interview is marvelous! Shows his depth as a person. Oh, the cynical part of me knows that Adam can BS with the best of them, and is creating the image or brand he wants to for this era. Of course he is. He is an artist and that is what artists do. But the fangirl in me likes to believe that, while he is creating an image, it is a true reflection of himself, too.
I am getting more and more excited about Era 3.

I love the article. The pictures in this interview is such a contrast to the ones we had last week...I like this look better but I think the photos last week was perfect to introduce his new single...

Well, he said something similar, but the phrase comes off very different when its not in context. In answer to the question: " How do you feel your sexuality comes into your music?" Adam states: " Well, it's kind of similar to what I'm talking about will all this. I don't feel the need to explain myself as much now. People know that I'm gay and I'm thrilled. I'm glad I don't have to explain that any more. In the beginning it felt like I had to defend it, in a way, especially in the United States where it's even more scrutinised in the media, and coming off a show like Idol which is so mainstream, it was just a bit of a culture shock for some people. I kind of enjoyed that, actually. I enjoyed the fact I got to be "that gay guy" and throw it in people's faces initially. It also became very evident that was the focal point, and sometimes it wasn't about the music, and ultimately I got into this as a singer, as a songwriter, as somebody who wanted to perform for people. The most important thing for me is still that. "....
