<laughs> Not sure why photographers often seem to like shooting Adam with little dogs. Seems so random. (Plus, I get the feeling that if Adam ever *did* get a dog it would be something large and happy like a Labrador or Irish Setter). I have a vague recollection of Adam saying that his favorite dog was a dachshund. Does anyone else remember that or did I imagine it? Youuuu are right!! I remember him saying that. It connected with me. Growing up we had two long haired dachshunds, (one after the other). Whenever I see a dashshund I think of Adam, and our two puppies.

Lucky guy got to hear 4 songs...jealous that would be me. I giggled when I read the line about the interviewer wearing the most "heavy duty earphones his publicist could find" so that no one else could overhear the music !!!!

Well, he said something similar, but the phrase comes off very different when its not in context. In answer to the question: " How do you feel your sexuality comes into your music?" Adam states: " Well, it's kind of similar to what I'm talking about will all this. I don't feel the need to explain myself as much now. People know that I'm gay and I'm thrilled. I'm glad I don't have to explain that any more. In the beginning it felt like I had to defend it, in a way, especially in the United States where it's even more scrutinised in the media, and coming off a show like Idol which is so mainstream, it was just a bit of a culture shock for some people. I kind of enjoyed that, actually. I enjoyed the fact I got to be "that gay guy" and throw it in people's faces initially. It also became very evident that was the focal point, and sometimes it wasn't about the music, and ultimately I got into this as a singer, as a songwriter, as somebody who wanted to perform for people. The most important thing for me is still that. ".... Yes, edited my comment a bit ago after I read the article. Context is important. He has often said he liked to be provocative, don't recall hearing him being quite this blunt about it before though. Great interview. Lucky guy got to hear 4 songs...jealous that would be me. I think this phenomenon of being "that gay guy" is one Adam may enjoy and be proud of in retrospect from a distance of several years, tons of experience, societal and cultural changes, and time spent fronting Queen. Just like Adam seems to have gained insight about his glam/peacock/OTT phase, distance has probably given him a new perspective on the whole "Gay guy" meme. That happens to us all. We gain insight and perspective about ourselves and our environment as we mature. We reframe it. Rescript it sometimes.

He stood in the face of some serious fire and not only survived it, he owned it. He should be and must be proud of that.

I stopped buying every magazine featuring Adam a while ago. But this one I may have to get. The interview is marvelous! Shows his depth as a person. Oh, the cynical part of me knows that Adam can BS with the best of them, and is creating the image or brand he wants to for this era. Of course he is. He is an artist and that is what artists do. But the fangirl in me likes to believe that, while he is creating an image, it is a true reflection of himself, too. I am getting more and more excited about Era 3. Too funny. When I got done reading the interview I thought the same thing. I need the print copy! He has a beautiful mind.

When Adam was on tour I always thought about bringing one of my Irish Setters up to the barricades by the buses. I always thought he might want to stop and pet him. In Louisville I was walking one of them around the venue and, of course, past where the buses were parked, and MP came out and petted him. (At that point in time, he was very personable. I don't think he thought I was there for the show.) I even named one after one of Adam's songs - "Surefire Winner!".
I mean, how can you resist!
