Based on the teensy, tiny bit we've heard of GT, it kind of reminds me of "Runnin'," for some reason. I don't know if it's just the lower register, or what promises to be a similar kind of pulsing rhythm, or what, but the snippets just immediately reminded me of "Runnin'," a happy thing for me since that's one of my two favorite Adam songs ever. I had the same feeling, but rather due to the darkness of the lyrics. Yesterday we were in the car with my wife and she was in charge of picking the music. She put in Trespassing and commented that "Take Back" is her favorite song on the album when it played first in a random sequence. Followed by the obligatory "I like it when he does not shout". I answered that he does not do that on most of the songs. Then "Chokehold" played and she said "Oh, I love that one too". Then was "OOL"'s turn and I got to hear "Oh, THIS is my favorite! I wish he would make a whole album like that" to which I answered "I know, you are in good company with your taste. A new album is coming soon and I have the feeling it might fit your taste..." If TOH is anything like the Dark Side Of Trespassing mood-wise, I will be a happy man, with a happy wife Now that is a couple of happy thoughts!! My fav songs on Trespassing are "Runnin'" (which I think is far more rock than anything we will hear on TOH), "Take Back", "Chokehold" and "Kickin' In". I get the impression that TOH is more serious, more lyrically focused than Trespassing. But I really do not know what to expect. The bits of "Ghost Town" we have so far do not sound like anything on Trespassing or FYE to me. Really does sound like something new.

That is the official name for the GATE. "The Damn Picture Gate" I think it is our first "Gate" of the TOH era! Thankfully, we do not have to deal with "Hair Shaved Off Gate" or some of the other strange Gates of 2009 like "Staker Gate". *** If someone landed her from Mars, they would think we were f'ing insane! Perhaps they would be right.

I think yesterday's artist flap was totally preventable had both sides taken a moment to check out what exactly happened. The artist had a knee-jerk reaction and made accusations without knowing the circumstances of the situation. Blaming Adam and calling him a thief could have been prevented had she kept her cool and handled it maturely. I would think a professional would do this. However, then the other side - defenders of Adam - retaliated in kind, immaturally, and chaos ensued. I see fault distributed equally and hopefully all learn from this incident. When I saw the artist original tweet posted here, she did Not name Adam ...so fans let that cat out of the bag to the twitterverse...and her Hashtag was #ArtTheft, NOT art thief as fans kept on about. The whole thing was based on untruths and brought out the very worst of this fandom...thank goodness we have new stuff coming out shortly.

Meaningful lyrics, voice up front and not overproduced, just a great song all around. I don't expect TOH to be like anything Adam has done in the past, but I hope it will hit me the same way that song does. Can't wait to find out!

I think a few fans over really overreacted to that whole Ghost Town image mess. On Twitter it was very bad. But I think that everyone involved thought about it and finally realized that artists own their work and that illustrators are artists. This is not just an issue for visual artists but for everyone who creates intellectual property. I hope you do not judge either this forum or the larger Adam fandom on a few posts by people who were either not knowledgeable about what they were posting, where momentarily carried away with emotion or one poster on this forum who was trying to stir up trouble and attacking people. I have banned this poster but cannot undo the hurt this poster caused. Please accept my apologies for allowing that to happen. I so rarely ban anyone from this forum -- it was the first time in about a year I had to resort to it. Thank you so much, Q3.

Just a reminder, folks, as we get hyped up for new music.
1. There are close to 2000 members on this forum. Many don't post at all. Of those who do post, 99.99% are positive, respectful, and kind.
2. We have four rules for posting on Adamtopia. If everyone follows those, there will be peace in the land.
3. Into every forum, a few trolls and muck rakers will sneak. Their purpose is to stir up a hornet's nest and upset as many people as possible. Their goal is not to share information, to engage in civil discourse, or to share their love of Adam. Therefore, when you respond to their provocations, YOU ARE GIVING THEM EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. You are feeding the beast. As inflammatory as their posts may be, do not engage. If you run across a post that you think violates our rules, report it to the mods. There is usually at least one online most of the time.
4. When posting, when in doubt, opt for "kind." I have never, once, had a member PM me as a mod and complain that a post was too nice, too smart, too funny , too glittery, too complimentary. If you think that something you are writing might be taken personally, it probably will. Stop and rephrase, or abandon the post. (You can also draft it in a PM to a mod and ask if it is okay.) And, if you are being amazingly clever, and sarcastic, it helps us avoid misunderstandings and appreciate your wit if you use emoticons to clue us in.
Thanks, and let's have a marvelous lead up to GT.

And most members know who to disagree without being disagreeable. It takes a bit of effort but leaves everyone happier! In addition to members, this "little" forum gets about 10,000 unique visitors a week. Some are bots working for search engines or others, but most of the IP addresses are for real people from all over the world. The only way to find Adamtopia is to search for information on Adam Lambert and stumble on it -- this forum is not listed anywhere and is "sub-optimized" for Google search results. (Meaning I keep it a bit hidden.) I never promote it on Twitter. So my belief is that most people who visit are Adam fans looking for the latest Adam news. *** We have been waiting for 3 years for new Adam music. I cannot wait. I plan to enjoy this launch. While I know there will be some drama ahead, I am much more interested in the reception his new soon-to-be-hit song gets from non-fans.

LindaG....you are a hoot! I feel it will definitely be an OMFG-ly type of surprise. I'm hoping for a 30 sec snippet maybe Mondayish...along with some of the radio reviews. If the whole song hits us all at once before the 20th...I'm afraid my head will explode. I don't remember being this excited for this long for the debut of any Adam song. ETA: I just realized that tomorrow is Mondayish........This week of foreplay is gonna be so exciting!!! I think they will build this one very slowly over the course of the week. They have given almost no clues about what they are doing except that in the US this promo is radio-centric and iHR is the lead on it. But I do not think we will have 30 seconds on Monday. (I hope I am wrong!) MAYBE something like this? > Monday, Tuesday, Weds - preview interviews, another 7 second snippet, Twitter and IG clues from Adam. > Thursday - Info about where and when the song will be streamed. > Friday - We get to hear more -- maybe 30 sec clip? maybe the whole song? > Monday April 20, 2015 - Song played on the radio, live streamed on iHR, Yahoo! Music and/or somewhere else. On sale in NZ, AU and building around the world except for the UK. >>>> Bamafan's head will explode! I will be addicted. We will not be alone! > Tuesday April 21, 2015 midnight ET on sale in US.
***once released they could take two weeks for the song to build then go for a big week*** > Monday May 4-11, 2015 Music Video released. > Tuesday May 5, 2015 or May 12, 2015 - radio impact date > Looks like Adam will be on Idol -- looks like Top 3 and Finale align to his promo calendar. I am sure he will be other places but this looks like a radio-centric plan -- a wise choice. Asked boss for the day off on April 21. Him: oh, on a Tuesday... doing something fun? Me: Adam is releasing a new single Him: (who knows that I am a groupie) Then he will be here? Me: No, but I want to take in the excitement on the internet Him: (mutters) You are nuts! But everyone needs a passion, good for you!
