Oh look at this -- from KWORB Evil In the Night#83 Singapore #92 Sri Lanka #122 Finland #158 Philippines #167 Indonesia #188 Canada I love this song. Any guesses as to why it was not saved for a single release? It can still be a single! WBR just has to give it a radio add date, if they so choose. Remember, in less than 3 weeks, all the tracks will be available. Only the first single usually comes out before the album released!

From OUT (although Adam's was based on a different one from Warhol's series). I was sad for Adam ...they took creative liberty and coloured the clothing, put red lips on him, eye make- up etc. The picture left in the natural state was a nice compliment to the Elvis picture. ...Glad the times have rolled along with his magazine print imaging. Positive...positive.... all around. Quite the good news re the big ADD to Z100, creating the bookend support along with KISS.

Any guesses as to why it was not saved for a single release? They have better songs we have not heard? {my guess/hope. I'm greedy.} Maxwell from Z100 who has heard the album WITH ADAM tweeted this... Maxwell on Z100 @maxwellshouse plumcomm Which ones you listening to?? I heard the album the other day w/ him #FIERCE
Donna @ala4afam May 21 @maxwellshouse Evil in the Night, Underground, Another Lonely Night. Evil in the night is killer.
Maxwell on Z100 @maxwellshouse @ala4afam Oh you're just scratching the surface...he's got some awesome songs comin!!Seams like TOH may be a single -- at least Adam seems to talk about it a lot. And I think that the Adam-Tove Lo track might be a single at some point. Also, it is possible for a "teaser" track to be released to radio later. Not common but there is a least one song on the Pop radio airplay chart that was first released as a teaser track -- Fall Out Boy "Uma Thurman" which is now #40 on the Pop airplay chart was also the #3 "teaser" track for their album, it was already probably going to be a single, but when it was released it shot to #1 on iTunes. So while it is unusual, it has happened.

Well it's a great track and potential radio single. But I am glad they went with Ghost Town it's more unique and stands out on radio. So I think its just strategy.
Yeah, I understand about Ghost Town. I played it for a teenager; she liked it and thought that the kids would go for it if they got a chance to hear it because of the EDM sound.

My bet is that they will not release it as a radio single. The labels can do whatever they want. There are no "rules" anymore. Digital singles cost so little to release that it is changing everything about how singles are used to promote an album. There is not long a physical retail channel for singles and that was the constraint in the past. Sometimes there are two or more singles released to radio before the album is released. Nicki Minaj had 4 singles released to radio before her last album, The Pinkprint.

According to Maxwell of Z100, there are better songs in The Original High. He was responding to fans question on twitter.

Now that we have 4 songs from TOH, I finally burned it to a CD so I can listen to them while driving. I was thinking that if Evil in The Night was given to Usher or Maroon 5, radio will play it a lot.
