Is this the official chart. Or itunes? It was top 40 overall in the UK iTunes chart all week so I was expecting top 40 on the midweek official chart but nope. iTunes is a pretty big percentage of UK music sales tho so if it gets a big boost after the lottery it could make the official chart I think. I thought that it did in fact make the midweek chart. Celeste posted this over on the Numbers thread: Would this be the place for UK chart updates?
If so, the midweek placing for Ghost Town in the Official Charts is #61 www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart-update/
It would be higher based on sales only, but of course, what matters is the placing with sales and streaming combined, and at the moment there just isn't enough streaming happening to boost the track.
I was really hoping GT would somehow make top 40 by Sunday's Official Chart, but it will be a stretch now to say the least. :/

Hi: All things considered, I don't think anyone should be upset if GT doesn't chart on Sunday in the UK. After all, it's still weeks away from being released to radio, and even in the US (after about seven weeks of exposure on the airwaves), it's only now poised to enter the Billboard Hot 100. (And when it does, just watch it fly!) Give it time!!
Meanwhile, let's celebrate the fantastic start that the album's off to in my native New Zealand. #5 overall on iTunes there, and it's only 12:09 am on the 12th!!

Yes, so far it's following the usual pattern for a single not supported by radio Maybe the National Lottery performance etc will extend its life a bit. ETA: Shoshanna strongly implied that it needs to show some sales potential this week to help get radio on-board - so I'm going to carry on streaming like crazy in the hope that its final (weekend) chart position improves.

P.S. A question for the Brits: can anyone shed any light on the negative (or at best, condescending) attitude towards Adam displayed by so many members of the UK-based Pop Justice forum? They'll abandon all objectivity when posting rave reviews of the likes of "cool" artist Brandon Flowers, but when it comes to Adam, they'll knock him for being supposedly Nick Jonas lite (??!!) or claim that he hasn't "carved out" a distinct identity. They also repeatedly claim that Adam's latest "serviceable" efforts aren't a patch on his previous album, though you can be sure that they showed Trespassing no love either when it was released! I don't get all the hate: www.popjustice.com/forum/threads/12554-Adam-Lambert-General-Discussion-Thread/page10

Yes, my Spotify is streaming Ghost Town non-stop as well! Everyone needs to do the same, we need radios to pick up Ghost Town!
Also, Q3 or whoever has knowledge of this, I would like to ask, what are the factors which determines a single's position on the Billboard Hot 100? Sales, streams, spins? Why is that Ghost Town is only likely to be breaking into the BB Hot 100 seven weeks after it has been released?

Looks to me like the negative attitudes encouraged others to share more negative attitudes.. Or do they genuinely think it's a bad track and bad album?
