In as much as he already did leave it out in the 'clean' versions being true to himself really isn't the issue. Marketing already acknowledges that not everyone wants to have an explicit album, that is why two versions are offered. Yes Adam did make a clean version but I think Ceecee was referring to Adam making only a clean version so he'd sell more albums. That is what I was referring to as the 'issue' here Adam having his explicit version, also, to be true to himself.

I believe I understand what Ceecee was saying as I have been in the conversation from the beginning. The conversation began with the discussion about what appeared to be selling best in a couple of retail stores that we had visited.

Explicit one selling here the most too. TOH on Itunes #12 overall. And Google Play #9 overall. So I don't think curse words effect sales at all, quite the contrary. 3kul - there is no proof that the album would not sell just as well without the fucks - you also have to consider that the highest selling one is the only version that has the 3 bonus tracks. And in the long run none of this discussion really matters because we cannot change what Adam and his label decide to put out.

Well...each of us can look at, understand, and interpret something differently that is what makes life interesting. Almost 3:00am here...Yikes. Bedtime!

Yeah.......ask Maroon 5 how much that Explicit sticker on the front of their current album has hurt sales, or their current single that is all over the radio with the title 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherfucker'. I just checked iTunes here in Canada and 10 of the current top 50 albums are explicit. The clean version of TOH isn't charting here, but the explicit version is holding steady at 5. I'm not saying that people shouldn't have the choice, but an explicit sticker will not hurt sales in any meaningful way at all. If people want to buy the album, they will buy the album. Same in the US -- the Explicit Deluxe Album is the big seller. I looked at three different stores and couldn't find a clean Deluxe Album all they had was the explicit album, maybe that's why they are selling more explicit albums. I asked at Target and the clerk said they didn't get a clean Deluxe version they only got the clean regular album and they were gone. They still had seven explicit deluxe albums on the shelf.

Thought all along that James Taylor would be hard to dislodge, JT is like an American monument or something. Susan Boyle now James Taylor. Yes, popped up after how many years? Like a ninja jack in the box. AAAH
