I wonder what the reason is. Perhaps The Scene and Lplayer do different processing on the videos and audio when they were uploaded? Hmm, whatever the reason, it's interesting to have both versions. I like the Lplayer version better because of the overall quality - I feel like they're just better videos. But those The Scene videos are interesting to those who like to listen to Adam's voice without any embellishments or tweaking-- especially on The Original High it's very noticeable, because his voice is so prominent over the music. (I have a feeling that only his voice was recorded in that warehouse, and then later integrated with the track music, but I could be wrong and it's something else. Still, it's almost like hearing Adam's voice raw, which is pretty amazing, since we don't get that with recordings and/or live shows.) It is nice to hear the raw vocals..... I thought it funny seeing the dancers pretending to sing back up vocals..

I just realised that those were multiple takes and they probably made a few videos of the different takes (and The Scene uploaded the wrong one). You can listen to the ending of TOH on both videos -- he ends differently in both!

So technically we just got 1 performance of ALN (1 B&W, 1 in colour), and TWO performances of TOH! We got 3 videos! Hehe

Also, I found it rather funny how the guitarists were pretending to strum the guitar during the chorus of ALN when there was no guitar track AND how the singers were "singing" background vocals! The songs were definitely backed by a backing track and the band was there for show! Also good to point out, The Scene videos were probably pre-processing, you can hear Adam's raw voice on those! So true. The DANCERS were "singing." I was watching the drummer. Pretty cute. Wonder how many times they'd heard the songs.

What a glorious way to start my day!! Live versions of 3 of my favorite tracks from TOH!! (They are all my favorites!) It is nice to hear the raw vocals..... I thought it funny seeing the dancers pretending to sing back up vocals.. Hold up hold up hold up.. It's not just raw vocals! I just realised that those were multiple takes and they probably made a few videos of the different takes (and The Scene uploaded the wrong one). You can listen to the ending of TOH on both videos -- he ends differently in both! Seems like two takes to me. And def not raw vocals. It is live recordings but this was produced. Parts are almost identical to the recordings, particularly on ALN but TOH is really different. There is one part of TOH where he is kind of off the rails a bit.

I really have no idea, it seems a bit strange to me... I clarified it with Shosh! Wait, wait, wait. Don't "fix" it. I like it "raw" and real. Well, at least the vocals real. The rest is as fake as a blue aluminum Christmas tree. The pianist is playing in a key which is a step lower than Adam is singing in. The guitarist doesn't bother to even try to approximate the fingering for the chords or change them when they change in the song. And when did the dancers become singers? But the vocals? When I first watched the first set I thought....... hmmm, is it live or is it memorex (cultural reference to a long ago advertisement, sorry)? The voice sounded richer, better than the studio recording, but, it was so precise and perfect it didn't look/sound live, either. On the second version, I can hear a few notes that are just a tad off perfect pitch. The voice is also much more prominent than the studio recording. It sounds authentically live. But listening to/watching either version, I like them better than the studio version. It is ironic that with most pop singers, the producers tweak the voices in the studio to sound better, stronger, richer. That's why they never sound as good live, or they don't even sing live during live performances. But with Adam, the producers tweak his voice to sound LESS rich, LESS full, LESS resonant than it sounds during live performances. I guess that is to get a more top-40, pop guy sound they think will click better with the target listening audience. And it seems to be working. I've read any number of reviews and comments about Adam's voice sounding better than ever on the album and the GT single. But, to my classically trained ear, it sounds more generic and less remarkable or breathtaking. Like revving the engine on a motor scooter rather than on a Harley. (So, I secretly hope someone will capture the "wrong" version so I can keep listening to it.) youtu.be/BY87DVq9spk?t=21s youtu.be/ES0QjZSYanw?t=10s

I do feel that I heard his falsetto clearly for the first time and it is brilliant, but yeah for Adam "kind of off the rails" is most performers "I wish I could sing the hell out of songs that way".
