There will be a new flock born if everybody wears pink for sure. You just want Adam back in Florida, gurl, pink or no. Yup. He fits in well here. He did have that Miami glow ..so tickled you got to see him for two events. The listening party was super and Splashion..wow, so close to the catwalk you all got. I mean, that is close. Cozy is good, right?

It just happens to be a topic related to what I have done for the better part of 30 years. Q scores measure how familiar people are with celebrities and then how favorable they are about them. They are a relatively inexpensive way to get info on a celebrity. >> Note: At least Adam has a Q score, most Idol alums are not on the survey. Even some winners are not in the survey. Kris Allen, for example, was dropped in Summer 2011. I have primarily worked with the hard goods (electronics, appliances) and home, entertainment and moderate/upper moderate fashion brands. I have very little experience with luxury brands. For mass market products, it is important to be associated with someone who is widely recognizable and has personal brand attributes that are suitable to the product. A good fits is Katy Perry and mass market cosmetics. In the right situation, with the right creative, a "lesser known celebrity" can make a lot of sense. It depends on what the desired brand position and marketing message is. And in luxury branding -- not my area of expertise -- there is a lot more freedom to be edgy and take a risk. This seems like where Adam belongs to me but only if that is something he wants. >> My dream for Adam is that one of his songs gets used in a car campaign. Maybe on Era 4. Shady was used in Kia commercials in Korea, do you remember? What is Adam's Q score, anyway? Just curious. I guess it's a number that fluctuates for everyone.

QAL IN SEPT! I love that he is a multitasker!

Balenciaga is a Spanish design company and the new designer and creative director is an American, Alexander Wang. So no connection to the UK. Sam Smith is one of the most successful and famous singers and pop stars in the world. He did not shoot up to #1 -- but climbed up there relatively slowly and has stayed there (Top 10) for almost a year. The only similarities between Adam and Sam Smith are that they are both men, gay and singers -- and successful. I am sure that when Adam gets the right offer, he will take it. I cannot see him being the face of a somewhat conservative design brand like Balenciaga. (Sorry but I think there bags and shoes are boring. Very "Barneys" to me.) I do know that Adam and his team have been approached about Adam being associated with at least two different designers lines and he declined. (according to the designers) There also was a very credible rumor that he declined to be the spokesmodel for a major makeup line. I also recall that Adam once said in an interview that he has declined free apparel from designers and buys all his clothes and costumes. I think the only exceptions were the two items from the Blonds -- Elmo jacket and the claw -- but I am just guessing. My impression -- and not based on any specific information just bits I heard a couple of years ago -- is that Adam wants to be completely free to wear whatever he wants whenever he wants to wear it. >> JMHO I hope Adam develops his own designer line -- I would love an Adam Lambert jacket and boots!! >> On Adam being polarizing -- his repositioning is well underway. This is not the Adam of 2010-2011. Marketers and Brand Managers use custom research and celebrity awareness and favorability ratings (like the Q scores www.qscores.com/web/default.aspx) as decision support. Adam has been in the Performer ratings since 2009 -- and the numbers are better now but (much as I love him), I would not hire Adam to represent most brands looking at these numbers. Not because he is polarizing, but because he is not influential enough right now.
Thanks Q3. The information about awareness and favorability and Adam's Q score was the type of thing I was looking for, but didn't know how to ask about. I know Adam will follow his own path, and I'm happy about that, but I was curious about how he was positioned from a marketing point of view these days. I don't want him to do anything in particular on the marketing front, just found the topic interesting. The SS article made me wonder about it. As a mom of an indie musician (same age as Adam) who is in a band that has put out 6 albums and toured the US and else where for 10 years, SS climbing up slowly, making #1 and staying there for a year is shooting up in my book. LOL Perspective differences! I knew SS had been working in music for some time, and worked hard. Also, thanks to everyone who added bits of information, voiced an opinion, or asked a question. It has been interesting to read. peace&love JMO, but I think SS shot to the top pretty darn fast. He's quite young and even though I know he must have been "struggling" somehow during his pre-fame days, it couldn't have been too long. I'm not saying that the climb to success is easy, but it just doesn't seem like he was a starving artist for very long. Just goes to show you what a perfect hit song can do. BTW, I am not saying that he is not talented. Not saying that at all. But his "song stature" is huge right now. Hence, the big offers. Big sales HeWhoCannot amed everything else, including looks, personality, etc. (and I'm not just referring to SS. It applies to celebrities in general.) Sam seems like a very good person (despite what he said about singing competition shows, which I think was uncalled for). But hey, he's got the proverbial tiger by the tale right now and he must make the most of it. Adam IS more polarizing, IMO. The gay thing isn't much of factor with Sam. It is with Adam. They are two very different people. I hope some endorsement opportunities open up for Adam. To be chosen to endorse a product, you need to be VERY well-know and VERY well-accepted by the buying public. SS is nicely benign in these areas. Adam not as much. Buyers have to think, "Hey, I want to (look like, eat like, drink like, wear clothes like, etc.) HIM!" Buyers really have to be onboard with the celebrity who is endorsing the product. It 's a factor that businesses have to consider very seriously.

I plead the 5th on this one You won't talk about the suit or the color of the suit?? LOL..it was coral, right? You are clearly in denial......you have to accept the bitter truth....it was pink.. Your male model in the second pic looks as if he's about to go scuba diving in turquoise flippers. Can his feet really be that big? .... Edit: they are turquoise....no other word for them....

I know little about product endorsement, but my instincts tell me that anyone accepting a sponsorship or endorsement has obligations to a product that might exceed what Adam is willing to do. I think he's had offers as has been stated before by Q3, but he's in this 'clean slate' period of independence. I figure if and when Adam takes an offer, it will be something he's passionate about. Just a thought.
Good for SS if he has an endorsement that works for him. I have no opinion on his music or his rise in the industry.

Edit: I thought Adam looked gorgeous. Not gonna diss the suit. Scuba diving!! Maybe it's cause the model is so tiny his feet look like surfboards?
Watch Adam wear this suit now and the fandom implodes. POOF!
