So quickly the time passes!
Already, almost 48 hours and another television show interview and performance (which was spectacular!) and the 'outtake' videos with AFL & Chris Colfer . . . it's hard to stay in real time! My recap of Morongo is like handing in an essay a day late, for sure!
Feel free to scroll, because there's not much more to report . . . Lorraine's recap was perfectly wonderful; and filled in the tiny gaps (as if there were any) in the video stream and all the fantastic recordings of this night in the rainy desert. Yes, the weekend felt 'retro' in Palm Springs - all its many buildings looking like a '40's movie set along the Boulevard. I expected to see Bob Hope turning the corner, walking his dog. I drove slowly, down this avenue, looking for the street I was to turn on to find 'Coyote Inn'. A light rain was falling, and the sidewalks were filled with people, casually strolling. Ah! There it was . . . and as I turned right my eye caught a familiar silhouette . . . it was Q3 at a sidewalk cafe, having lunch! I saw that as my first indication this weekend would be magical. She has powers, you know . . .
Nine of us - Atopers, lurkers, friends - gathered at the "Tacos & Tequila" restaurant before the show. As we drove into the parking structure, we passed a vehicle with 'Adam Lambert!' written in white shoe polish on a car's back window, and passed several people wearing Ghost Town or Original High attire. We picked the T&T restaurant because it had a rear seating area that was a little apart from the slot machines and the smoke and noise; nevertheless, there was no understanding one another from one end of the table to the other! Our joy transcended the noise around us! We passed the 'Adam Lambert SOLD OUT' sign in the casino - it was next to two escalators that would take attendees to the next floor and the concert venue. No way could we hear a sound check; it was above and beyond us.
We ordered food and wine and had a blast for about 3 hours; which passed at lightning speed (sort of a prequel to an Adam concert). Wish there had been more time, once in, to stroll the venue and locate and visit with familiar faces, but soon after we entered, the 'opening act' began to play. Poor them! Wish I could tell you something about their style or their set, but - no. They suffered what every 'Adam opening act' has to overcome. They are like the cheese and crackers before the gourmet meal.
The Showman (Shaman?) knows how to make a dark entrance. It works so magically to begin with just the voice. And, when he began with the lament of Outlaws of Love, it was a stroke of genius I hope he will bring to every concert for the rest of concertdom forever and ever. Until the end of time.
For the record, my DH watched the videos with me this afternoon - and he thinks "There I Said It' is Adam at his most impressive, both vocally and interpretively. Me - - I was blown away by everything. Adam has nailed his act. Think of late night. Not yet. Soon. After hours. In fact, at one point I literally fell off my 2-inch platform sandals; and I have the bruised ankle to prove it. There's only so much of Adam at his most sensual before near-fainting sets in. Now I know the true definition of 'swoon'.
I get it now. I think. Era3 is real. And, what has 'real Adam' always been to me? Off stage, the chameleon is natural; beautiful, pleasing and articulate and intelligent and so, so engaging. But, guys, that's not what I'm here for. I know people who are all the aforementioned. I want the sensual, arousing, you-know-I'm-right-here-touching-you vocals . . . that I first saw in 'Ring of Fire'; that I sensed every time his eyes found the eyes of the camera. I saw the chameleon change color each time he exited and entered the stage with Queen. I saw the chameleon at the Music Box when he was crawling on the stage - - - and then he laughed. I think this time he won't need to change color; because he is singing about himself. Revealing himself. This time, he changed costume, but his demeanor remained sincerely the same. Fierce and creative and so 'sex on fire' (as he said - the Kings of Leon song would be his 'walk-on) - so ADAM - so open to you and to me; and so 'allowing' you and me to find, freely, this incredible rush. What does it feel like to sing your heart to a thousand people with your eyes closed? There is my definition of bravery. And honesty.
So. Adam has helped me learn to be better. Being real is always better. His example has helped me be honest and authentic and - - - yes, brave. After the show, our little entourage came back to 'Coyote Inn' - and swam until the wee hours. Each lap; each emergence from the water felt fresh and clear and hopeful, as the rain intermixed with our hopes for Adam and his future - and ours. Adam doesn't define any of us; but he is delicious food for thought as we wonder how we'll dine in the days to come.
I think we're in for a feast.

It sounds like you had a blast - and you certianly had a feast for the eyes and ears. I most definatly want to be part of your entourage one of these days ! I was just sitting here watching some of the videos from today - the Q&A with Adam and Chris and I'm grinning ear to ear. Love evey second so far of all of the Era 3 promo. Love that we have such a goofball - sex god - kind - generous person to bring us all together

Loved everything about The Talk! His interview, esp. the "back seat in the car and knowing all the words at age three" story. He's such a great interview! GT was stellar, of course. I love how Adam handles being complimented on his looks all the time. He's so gracious about it. He usually deflects the compliment right back to the other person. Loved the bit with Christ Colfer. Those two are a lot of fun together. Witty, funny, smart. Adam's back up band is excellent. All big-time professionals. The sound is very good! Such a great couple of weeks in Adam Land! I'm out of town but trying to check in now and then on my laptop. I can never get enough of Adam.

Twitter is stripping out backgrounds for some dumb a-- reason - probably to sell add space. Anyway, the following tweet tells you how to restore your background - for now. Not sure how long this will work. Many twitter users have taken great pains to develop elaborate backgrounds depicting their passion. I think there will be fewer users on twitter as personal choice is overrun for profit. It is hard to keep up with all the social media now. Adam related in that I find it is one of the quickest and easiest way to get information. Really do not use Facebook or other social media stuff.

If your background on Twitter disappeared like mine, go to: settings - design - then click "save" and it should be restored.
