I think of Adam as may things but ECCENTRIC is not one of them!! ec·cen·tric ikˈsentrik/ adjective: eccentric 1. (of a person or their behavior) unconventional and slightly strange. "my favorite aunt is very eccentric" ? ? ? WTH??? synonyms for eccentric: unconventional, abnormal, irregular, aberrant, anomalous, odd, queer, strange, peculiar, weird, bizarre, outlandish, freakish I find that a bit insulting although I don't really think it was meant to be that way. I think that they might have meant "unconventional" but not any of the other synonyms. SMH, don't read more into the use of a single word than is really there. Keep it in context with a totally positive article, every comment glowing. Eccentric? Adam is eccentric, as an artist and as an individual he is unique, unconventional, sometimes outlandish, and he will even tell you he is a bit of a freak. Nothing insulting about any of those characteristics.

I was listening to TOH, and this thought came into my mind. I was wondering to myself, what would it feel like to be able to hear each song from TOH all over again, for the first time? And then I realised I really want to. I want to feel the same excitement and trepidation that I felt when the GT lyric video surfaced online a few hours early, or when ALN and EITN iTunes tracks were released. Or when TOH was dropped early on the Chinese website. Or even when we realised the entire album could now be streamed on Amazon (god knows how many times I replayed that button). Wouldn't you want to rediscover the songs again? The thought of it already excites me! I was sort of thinking the same yesterday when listening to the cd in the car, but more in the trend of the next single. How would TOH be received by someone who hasn't heard it yet. All the songs are now so familiar already that it's not really fair for us to say which should be the next single. However I did think that TOH is a less surprising / weird song than GT so in that way they really did the best choice in the first single. GT is still very special to me and I was almost a bit disappointed yesterday when TOH came (but that fluctuates a lot). I also listened very carefully to the lyrics and songs to find the connection of those casting choices and I came to the conclusion that the only song these can be used for is TOH (with a very small chance of TISI). If I have to make a list of favorites for songs that have to be a single now it would be: Underground Evil in the Night There I Said It The Light (With Things I Didn't Say and Another Lonely Nigh on the reserve list) Listened a lot these last few days and I too, would have loved Underground to be the next single. I wanted to love TOH because Adam clearly does but sadly it still leaves me cold - too many different bits of tune (technical terms here) IMHO - - but as it seems set to be next, I'm always very glad to hear that others love it and hope it proves me wrong.........

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE TOH, but it's just not as surprising and fresh as GT is. At least I didn't feel it yesterday. The rest of the week I turned up the volume though when TOH came on. It's a very good song, but I'm very curious what it will do with people that haven't heard it yet and the radio here. A nice other thing: GT just came up in a commercial for a new program on Veronica (TV). That caught me by surprise! Very short (only: My heart is a Ghost Town), but very nice! ETA: Guess I'll be getting that short GT clip every 20 minutes now since my parents are watching some series on Veronica and it came back in the 2nd commercial group again.

REVERB: I know Adam insists on reverb when he performs and normally it's just a nice blending of sound but at the Auckland show there seemed to be too much making it hard to hear the words on some songs. Is that something Adam decides or is that the shape of the room and remixing is more difficult in some venues. I especially didn't like it on TOH or IIHY...or is it a tool Adam uses when his voice is tired?

Likely Adam and sound guy decide during sound check as the reverb bounces off the walls differently at each venue. But then when the venue is full of people the sound charactristics of the venue changes as the sounds bounces off of people (and/or is absorbed). They cannot accurately how the sound will change when people are added to the venue and it is difficult to make major adjustments during the concert.

Bridgeymah! I love this post! So with you about WGWGs! When Adam was on the Voice I watched the video clips of each contestant's performance that week. I was curious, as you had complained about the lack of quality. One after another stood (or sat) in front of the mic and sang. None were cringe-worthy, but only one was really good: the blond gal who sang "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". And, she was not current, didn't catch your eye or give an interesting performance. Unless the producers are looking to produce a top 40 album of the greatest songs in musical theater, I couldn't see her becoming a superstar. As for the others, I wasn't impressed enough to search out other performances, nor would I buy a CD or a ticket to see them in concert. Then, Adam's clip started playing. OMG! He is always wonderful, but he shines the brightest when seen and heard in contrast to other performers. If I had been a viewer who didn't know Adam Lambert, I would have thought he was lip synching to an electronically enhanced vocal track. His voice was so pure, light, rich and floating. Then, in the bridge he shifted to overdrive. WOW! A was impressed anew at how extraordinary Adam is. Indeed and things haven't really improved. The judges song picks have been truly perplexing this year. The "don't cry for me argentina" girl is still in competition although may not make it through this week as Ricky gave her slowed down "marry the night" with a completely overwrought arrangement to sing and she struggled a bit. She's one of the few who manages not to mumble through her nose while she sings.

They just played GT at the Mets/Pirates game at Citi Stadium in NY. I heard the whistle, and I thought I'd hit my Spotify by mistake!
