OK I weighed in yesterday before I got all the way through all the evidence but then deleted so I can add. I'm 95% I know the problem. I think it was a faulty monitor.
I listened to the isolated vocals and I had my percussion friend listen as well and he agrees. QALs version of Save Me starts out VERY freeform. It starts out a cappella at the very very beginning, than Spike layers some keyboard strings underneath as the basis of the song but follows Adam very legato, not precise verse which is great and works well for the emotion of the song. Spike can follow Adam in freeform but the chorus has to be precise to everyone can be together. So it's up to Roger to get them together with the 3 cymbal strikes and then everyone comes in on the downbeat. Roger started with the cymbal track on time with Spike but Adam's "love you til I DIE" line (DIE being the important part) bleåd just enough over Roger's first cymbal strike and Adam misses it - at least partially due to a low monitor. So Adam is waiting for that third cymbal strike but Spike (who heard it), Roger, and Rufus go on and Adam is got left behind momentarily. Brian follows Adam for the first crash in. Adam knew instantly that he was behind Rog/Neil/Rufus/Spike so he stopped and walked back towards Rog so that he could get back in sync for the second part of the chorus. Brian knew better than to play and make it more obvious that there were no vocals so he came back in when everything was synced back up.
Rufus went to fix the monitor on that side.
Nobody really to blame - more the style to blame...ah well - live is dangerous. and 99/100 they'll get it right....but when they don't, they fix it quick :D

Further and more precise. A faulty or low leveled monitor is probably to blame.
Oh and further while I don't disagree on the possibility that Brian's guitar was out - that isn't the reason for the missed cue. Because Adam is already the beat behind.
Missing the first cymbal strike (either through a faulty monitor or just due to bled vocals? THAT I buy) but it's SAVE ME during the down beat (with guitar) followed up by a snare.
In this case it was downbeat followed by SAVE ME (with the snare) so Adam is a half beat behind. Brian is as well either due to the faulty monitor or because he was following Adam for that particular cue.
Either way it was a quick fix :D

The last name is added to the list of performers on Radio 538 Live XXL on october 10 in Amsterdam, the festival where Adam also will perform. Last name is James Morrison. It is quite a long list of performers (the longer the list, the less time there is for each performer to sing) and I wonder who the main act will be: Adam or James? Who is "more famous" in The Netherlands? I hope Adam will sing many songs because he is one of the main artists link

They are very happy he's performing so I really hope he get's more time than only two songs (GT and ALN should be certain, maybe WWFM as well). The program is pretty packed though as they will also do a lot of other stuff besides the performances. Someone on twitter was asking 538 today which commercial interest they have in playing GT so often. It got played 4 times already today and we are only 15 hours in the day. Could be that they made a deal with them about the plays and performance. twitter.com/IkBenGoran/status/645939559155519488James Morrison just got the Alarmschijf for this week so I guess they made a deal with him as well.
