Are there any thoughts or insights as to why they are waiting until Nov 16 for ALN to impact radio? I'm going to start with my usual disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about the ins and outs of the radio business! My guess, however, is one of the following: that they are waiting for GT to completely die out following a possible Halloween resurgence or that they are wanting it to be a fresh release in advance of the Holiday shows to which he has committed. 1

They could wait till Nov 2020 for all i care lol. Out of my hands, my job is too stream and buy, and request locally. Just saying im.sure label has strategies in place for radio dates, logistics and all.

That seems like a very good analysis to me. Part of it is not so much about the radio business -- more about the launch strategy. In addition to waiting for GT to own Halloween, they probably want a big promotional push leading into the the heart of holiday gift buying. I would not be surprise to see some kind of holiday TOH retail promotion -- almost as if it was a new album release. A new pop radio single on the air is a good way to go into Black Friday weekend. The only other thing I can think of is that there is a radio freeze and no new songs are added to playlists at the end of December -- so releasing a single in mid-November would put ALN in a great place for the Christmas Freeze. The “Christmas Freeze” is the annual seasonal shutdown that hits radio station playlists across the US in and around December, ranging anywhere from 2-to-8-weeks in length (depending on the station and format. AC is typically 8 weeks, Pop and HAC typically around 3 - 4 weeks.) During the Freeze, there’s no real chance of seeing rotation upgrades or of gaining new supporters (adds) until January rolls around. >> Seeing this date makes me think WMG has radio adds lined up and rotation commitments. So why does this freeze happen? For the most part, it comes down to a few reasons that are interconnected — staffing concerns, seasonal programming (not so much on Pop), and changing listening patterns. It occurs during one of the few “non-ratings” windows available during the year for on-air staff to book vacation. If the Music Director isn’t already pulling an air-shift, chances are they may be tapped to help provide relief covering a time slot. This increased work-load, combined with the added need to produce music logs several weeks in advance (as well as possibly creating year-end stunt programming, ie: “The Top 100 Hits of 2015”), usually results in the cancellation of weekly music meetings and the adding of new songs to the playlist. ETA: One more reason for the Impact Date being 11/16 -- WBR has Jason Derulo f/Jennifer Lopez & Matoma "Try Me" (Warner Bros.) with a 11/3 Impact Date. Labels try to avoid two of their own artists going for adds at the same time if they can.

God help any other music released around then.

Whew! Been gone almost all day. Just back to check in. I agree with some thoughts on this thread. Adam is a good collaborator. I think he would work well with any director. He wants to learn, not be a pain in the neck. I think he learned a lot with the relatively small part he had on Glee. I'd love to see him get another chance in something else. Rocky Horror is a great show. I've seen the movie several times. But I'd like to see Adam do something outside the realm of a "sexual identity" character. JMO.
As for the release of ALN on Nov. 16, I think the timing is fine. GT is still quite strong. It's had a great run. I think the middle of November is probably a good time to release ALN. I know we're supporting it like crazy and will keep it up. I'd love to see it go to the top here.

It should be a big holiday because Adele's "25" is a destination purchase that people will add on to.
