Just been watching a really enjoyable film I recorded "The Knight's Tale" from 2001 starring Heath Ledger. As the final credits were rolling, We Are The Champions was playing. I thought it didn't sound like Freddie singing so I watched right to the end for the music credits and blow me if it wasn't Robbie Williams with Queen. I had no idea he had a Queen connection. Anyone know if this was just a one-off for the film or whether he ever sang with them in public?

Replying to my own post now that I understand what the fuss was about. It wasn't his original comment on the Instagram that caused offense, rather it was the pic itself with someone thinking it's wrong to wear clothing of a particular culture as a fancy dress costume because it shows a lack of respect. Love the way he responded with his Amish outfit! www.facebook.com/SilentDesi/videos/10203696555587230/

My 15 yr old is already crawling the radio dial while in the car looking for the "happy" channel. Adam really timed it well for all the seriousness that is now HAC but the kid is ready to hear something upbeat like These Boys. He's just gong to wince at Adele's single. One of the things I love about ALN, though, is the upward tempo shift following the "moo." The lyrics are desolate, but the chorus just begs for a full-on sing-along, which, for me, is very uplifting and cathartic. I'm not darking on Adele's song in any way because she has a lovely and uniquely expressive voice and I think the song is very beautiful, but while I enjoyed listening to it, it didn't resonate through my brain the way ALN did after just one listen or urge me to belt out the chorus. I feel that ALN is certainly introspective and thoughtful, but not overly gloomy.

Anyone know if this was just a one-off for the film or whether he ever sang with them in public? This is a good question; online, I found mentions that Robbie was being strongly considered to front Queen but lost out to Paul Rodgers. Aside from the WATC soundtrack recording, I haven't run across other collaborations.

I love Adele, and every time I ask why TISI could not be released, I am told that big ballads don't do well as singles! Just sayin..... I wonder how it'd go if TISI was Adele's song and she released it as a single... Exactly!!!

I'm confused about the TBT Instagram description change. From memory all I remember it saying was that it was so hot in there his bindi was slipping - which surely couldn't offend even the most sensitive soul? And surely Adam wouldn't bow to the whiners and change something as innocuous as that? Replying to my own post now that I understand what the fuss was about. It wasn't his original comment on the Instagram that caused offense, rather it was the pic itself with someone thinking it's wrong to wear clothing of a particular culture as a fancy dress costume because it shows a lack of respect. Love the way he responded with his Amish outfit! Now I am really laughing, it makes his caption pretty hilarious that he shifted the Persian/Arabian reference probably intended by whoever was such an idiot to the totally not existent blue-skinned people out there. He is so sharp. Hahahaha!
