I don't listen to pop music on the radio so wonder about some things. Aside from Madonna (57) and Katy Perry (31), are there other "pop" stars going strong on pop radio that are in their 30's? Doesn't the talent naturally "age-out" of pop radio at some point? Is it reasonable to assume that the demographic listening to pop radio are the same demographic that can 1 - really appreciate Adam's talents? 2 - relate to Adam? We all know that Adam wants to be big on pop radio. But if/when he finally lets that goal go at some point, what would be other career goals musically (aside from Broadway) for a singer/entertainer of his outstanding skill level? I have all kinds of respect for Adele and Pink (now age 36). Like Adam, Pink's songs & albums do well in the USA but seem to be far more popular outside the USA. Yes, the #1 pop songs in the world and US for the past 3 years have been by men -- 30+ 2015 Mark Ronson (40) and Mars (30) "Uptown Funk" 2014 Pharrell Williams (41) "Happy" - he is 42 now 2014 Macklemore (31) and Ryan Lewis (27) feat. wanz (52) - "Thrift Shop" Macklemore is 33 now and just opened the EMAs. Many chart regulars are over 30. For example, Adam Levine is 36. The US and Canada target audience for pop radio/Top 40 radio is usually 18-29 or 18-35 -- but some stations target up to 50. It depends on the market and what the advertisers want. TV generally targets 18-49 which is what advertisers pay a premium for. The gossip sites drive a ton of online traffic from stories about Selena - Demi - various Jonases - Bieber. Adam just ended up in that pit of gossip. The big story right now is the Selena-Bieber one. This is relatively small.

I am addicted to Adam Lambert. By in large, a pleasant, harmless addiction. But, occasionally I go off the deep end.
Recently I have had almost daily doses of Adam goodness: First we had the QAL European tour which gave us new music videos several times a week, and a steady dose of interviews and stories in the media. After a short break we segued into full on PR for TOH and GT. Adam was EVERYWHERE, talking to EVERYONE. I enjoy Adam talking almost as much as Adam singing.
But, like most addictions, I found myself needing more and more exposure to maintain the Adam high. I wanted new singles. I wanted interviewers to probe for new answers. I wanted Adam to reveal new aspects of his artistry and new stories of his past. I wanted him to perform new songs during appearances. Even tho' I was getting almost daily fixes I became increasingly antsy for more.
Now, Adam has taken a few days off from the relentless push for TOH. And I am jonesing for a fix. Prowling the internet and ATop for tidbits. My craving is relentless, and finds me checking back online hourly.
That is the background for this latest "news" item. My Google alert is now filled with Adam news and I gobble it up. But it is just rumor, innuendo, gossip, bashing, angsting, speculation, and predictions of Adam's total collapse as a popular artist. See, when there is no significant Adam news or development, it seems that the media and Glamberts collaboration to create their own stories. An odd permutation of fanfiction. It is detrimental to my peace of mind and blood pressure, but like all addicts, I seem unable to just walk away. I keep reading this shit.
Stoopid, stoopid, stoopid. I need to take the dogs for a walk in the park or get on the stationary bike with my iPod playing QAL and classics from the Upright Cabaret. I need to read a book. Maybe even do a little house cleaning or fall leaf raking. Yet, here I am at my computer screen wanting, needing more Adam news.
Hello. I am cassie, and I am an Adamholic.
