I just want to voice a completely meaningless and ridiculous pet peeve of mine -- ADELE! I think she is a fantastic songwriter with a unique voice but omg enough already with the recurring angst. If Adam had released a single filled with the dramatic production with wails like Hello, he would have been criticized for being overly dramatic and too theatrical. She's good but I feel like I need an anti-depressant after listening to her. Tiptoeing in to say thank you - I really liked several songs from her first two albums, but this new one is starting out at least to be the same old same old. Ditto a couple other "artists" I could name. She does have a gorgeous voice. Adam, on the other hand - something new, different, and even tho the subject might be down, the beat is UP!

One of my daughter's friends posted on FB to the effect of "she has some pipes, but that song is a snoozefest". That's from a 30 something who changed her online name to be a character from Titanic and has seen Rent 8 billion times.

Personally, i would love to see Adam do a tour of 5K-10K size venues, such as LA's Nokia or Greek. I go to arena shows because that's what some of my favorites play, like P!NK and Katy! But I really prefer places like Nokia!! ITA It is a step up from GNT but more human. Perhaps a few festivals (with Queen and alone to get the huge buzz) but nice mid size places with good revenue that can sell out. Then Pentatonix etc. makes lots of sense. It sounds better in places like that as well and you don't get the endless parades of people walking out for their drinks and bathroom breaks right in front of you or the level of audience noise. The arena shows bring out that kind of circus atmosphere which is fun but would get old. And they all look the same. I like theaters/amphitheaters for their variety - Del Mar Fair, Costa Mesa, Nokia etc. etc.

Noticed today her male mini-me announced plans to take an indefinite hiatus in order experience life, yadayadayada.

This is exactly why Adam negotiating with DL for the tour made perfect sense to me. I know a lot of folks were not enamored with the combo and obviously it is not to be, BUT the economics and logistics of the the pairing were close to ideal for Adam. There are a limited number of acts touring at any moment and even fewer that fit the bill of what he needs and what would work for him. It will be really interesting to see what they come up with. I disagree about Pentatonix! They have already sold old small arenas on their last tour! With their album sales & a single that i think radio will warm up too, they are only going up! Agreed! Pentatonix is more popular than people realize. And a #1 album (beating out Demi) is significant. They are hot right now. I would love a pairing with Adam, and the timing could be right...
eta---PTX would sell more tickets than CRJ. And, hasn't everything she has released this era flopped? They pushed that "Really, Really Like You" so hard--including to Disney (I have a 9 year old) --and nothing worked.

Wonder if the two upcoming shows are serendipitous or a trial balloon

But I really prefer places like Nokia!! Me too!! The arenas generally are built for basketball or hockey. The 5K-10K venues are built for music and entertainment.

Well, I listened to Adele's new video about a dozen time in a row and still wanted to listen to it again!!! And with really good headphones on, the sound effects in the video are like listening to a movie at the cinema. Using an iMax camera for part of the video was a real inspiration!
