This is so AWESOME!! Adam kicking off the NZ/Australia with a gold feather in his cap...no red bull needed for an energy kick for tonight's performance. And I noticed his opener Melanie Martinez was also listed Gold for her single....released in February 2014. it will be interesting to hear what Atopers think of her on this leg of the tour. Sure wish these concert times were not so deep into my bedtime!! Wasn't Melanie Martinez in the finals of the X-Factor USA? On The Voice....2012.

From what I can tell -- It was certainly pretax and almost certainly post management, professional and legal expenses. However Adam lives in California so taxes are extremely high -- highest in the US. Even with the best planning, he pays a lot of taxes. $10 million probably ends up being > $6.5-7 million net. And that pays for a lot of boots. I don't know what the income tax is in California, but from what I saw, I pay more in real estate taxes in New Jersey. As in, my house with a market value of $280k pays more than his $3Million house. This is one case where you do have to mix in the apples and oranges and analyze the mush. You are correct. Our property taxes are not bad!

Well.. yes for a house with the same market value as yours, people in NJ pay almost 3x of taxes than CA. NJ is the highest property tax in the country. But even that you don't pay $18k for your property tax right? i think that's how much property tax Adam should pay. www.tax-rates.org/property-tax-calculatorThe 9 states with the highest property taxes

And Adam's can't go up much either. Proposition 13!! ETA: HOLY CRAP! My taxes in NJ would be 18K!! I pay 3.8K Wow!!

Wasn't Melanie Martinez in the finals of the X-Factor USA? I looked her up and it seems she was on The Voice. But wiki said her record was released 4/22/14 (not that it really matters). She is very quirky and was quite popular on the show. Melanie Amaro won 1st season X Factor but seems to have not made it. The RIAA site I feel is more official than Wiki for the release date. If you open up the details on the RIAA site for her song....it states February 11, 2014. I went to wiki as well to confirm my view she was on The Voice. When I saw the date in Wiki I double checked the date on RIAA. I assume whomever wrote the wiki article just put the release date of the single as the same date as the release of her album. Much like Adam and others they release a single first...as a teaser then the album release follows at a later date. So the single was in February followed by the album in April.

Well...once he buys a place in Manhattan he'll get the real real estate tax! but hope he does! and hope he gets a property in London as well!

But if understand correctly donnamb said she pays more tax for her house than Adam's $3million house. The estimated 18K tax for Adam's house is actually less than 1% of his purchase price.
