Miles Tougeaux @milestougeaux 7h7 hours ago How does a normally soulful Gaga do an entire Bowie tribute with absolutely none? Miles Tougeaux @milestougeaux 9m9 minutes ago If she had just done a stripped down version of Life on Mars, she would have nailed it. I wholeheartedly agree with Eber here. Why didn't she do just one, maybe 2 songs of Bowie's? Rather than trying to cram in so many, it made it sound so rushed....and as someone said here, frenetic. I think I understand what she was trying to do, but for me it was just an awkward mess.

I think if Adam hypothetically did the tribute. He would of shown more soul. Which was missing. He wouldn't of come across as a personater. He would of put his unique twist on it. Brought the house down. And become a household name. But alas. It did look like she was trying to impersonate him, didn't it? And singing in the lower register when she has an amazing voice. Her voice and how she presents herself is usually the only thing I like about Gaga, as I don't really like her music...I think people telling Nile they didn't like it is just rude though, and unnecessary..but there's always one...

I loved GNT too! And I loved all the kissing Tommy and I know lots of people here did too! That was when I was just discovering online fan clubs and was lurking here alot. I remember waiting for the videos of each concert to show up, starting with Fever. And I remember all the UNF and wet panty comments/fangirling on this site! Only thing I did not like was having all of our fun spoiled by a few cray fans who coud not tell the difference between real life and fantasy!!! After all the hoopla over that, it seemed to become the in thing to be against liking the on-stage kissing. How quickly the tide changed. And I've loved the WAG & IOH eras just as much! It's all Adam, just different sides to his personality and I love them all!!!!!! It's funny, when I see the video's of the TOH tour and fever is on, I wait for him to walk down the stairs and stop, turn to the guitar player and NOTHING! Of course I laugh but that was hot! I was watching some old vids from the Trespassing era and damn, those songs were good. If only he had the support of his label and they pushed like WB does. It's a shame because thats a whole album that no one but his fans heard, and I'm not going to lie, I like that album better than TOH!! I've been thinking this....

Delurking here to post what has been bothering me all along with this Bowie 'tribute'. It was an Intel infomercial. I wish Nile hadn't associated himself with the backstage Intel/Haus of Gaga crap. To have a memoriam for an artist who shifted the entire landscape of music and reduce it to a ploy for Intel's new technology, I find to be an insult to David Bowie and his legacy. There was an article posted about this topic..wish I had it handy. In it, Nile wanted multiple artists, but the Executive Producer of the Grammys overruled him for Gaga on Intel's dime and her own agenda. Anyone see that article or am I writing it myself as I speak here? My comment has nothing to do with your statement, Freaky, doll. Many artists have deep roots in David Bowie's music, Adam included. At least Adam actually DID a memorial performance. Right down to the black stars and white orchid. I find the whole matter disgusting. If Gaga had performed her music, she could have spray painted Intel all over her and it wouldn't mean squat to me. But to do this to David Bowie..just no. My, I seem to have my voice back.. I just didn't get that part of it. I think it was Dancy that said The Grammy's are sponsored by Intel, so it's all about the fucking money as usual. This whole planet is one consumerist mess...I really like your idea that Gaga could've just sprayed the Intel logo over her self! Genius!! I still think to her it was a real heart felt tribute, and with Intel behind the Grammy's, they're obviously going to sponsor it, but yes, it does just reduce it to a commercial, an insult. So Nile wanted multiple artists? Why not have Brian Eno involved, he worked very closely with Bowie, they were friends. I mean there were many over the years, right?!

I loved GNT but I often thought and just recently heard him say how much work it was. Can you imagine what went into getting dressed every night with all that glitter and makeup and then trying to get it washed out only to start again. I still find glitter in my dresser drawer and I only went to 2 shows. He must have at least 2 free hours before a show now. So why is he still late (just kidding lol) Love it!

We all love Adam and different fans prefer different sides of him. All good. I sense that almost everybody has embraced every chapter of this journey. In terms of "success" as a recording artist and award show "acceptance" etc. I think Adam should not worry about pleasing current trends too much and just keep focusing on being as authentic as possible. Adele, like her or not, is a good example. Aside from that, I believe that Adam would be at an even higher level of stardom right now if a different single from the TP era had been chosen and if there had been more label support. TP itself is a kickass song and phenomenal in that AOBTC mash-up. Too bad that it never made it on radio. -js Oh yeah tp.should of been lead single out of the gate. Rca just stifled Adam I think. But gt has put Adam bk.on.the map. Heres hoping Toh is even bigger. RCA did stifle him, didn't they? As a record company, they really should have had more vision. I don't know why they didn't just ask Adam, he always had a great vision of what he wanted to achieve. Maybe if they had released the right single THEN, he could've been performing that tribute to Bowie NOW.

I just want Adam whenever and however... I have never had more fun, learned as much, travelled all over the world as much , met so many
others both famous or not, as I have vicariously following this prince of a man. His voice and his being have enriched my soul.. I want nothing

I have definitely had the same experience. I know more about the current music industry than I ever would if I didn't follow Adam. And I've learned a LOT more about music of the past, too, including artists, producers, etc. that I never paid much attention to. Following Adam has enriched my life many fold. I've met great people on fan sites and in person. I'm also more aware of news about social issues, human rights and the leaders in those areas. I never thought that discovering one amazing singer on a TV show could change my life so much. We've had our ups and downs, but it's been a great ride and I don't want to get off!
