My review of the show at the Sands Bethlehem ~ The good, the bad and the ugly!!! LOL!!! The good, actually excellent: The excellent: Great event center, great outlet stores at the Sands (I got a $395 dollar Coach bag for $99), great seats in the venue, great sound and great views of the stage and the large screen next to it, and the best audience that I have EVER been a part of. The surprising: The opening act was really enjoyable. Alex Newell has an amazing voice, a charming personality and a great sense of humor. I enjoyed every minute of his performance and so did the rest of the audience. I guess that I should have known that Ryan Murphy would only choose a great performer to be a regular on Glee. The superb: Adam was at his very best that night. You could see him beaming with smiles all during his amazing performance and you could tell how much he was loving it. The audience were definitely his fans and they all stood for the entire performance, knew the words to the songs, and screamed themselves hoarse (I did too) after each song. One guy, down near the front, even did that bowing down thing. Every time that Adam hit one of his amazing high notes, the audience shrieked wildly and some people were swooning and fanning themselves every time that Adam did a suggestive move. Also, many folks there filmed the show on their cell phones but I think it was mostly for their own enjoyment, not to post. After the show, everyone was talking about what a great show it was and my granddaughter was asking if Adam would ever consider being with a girl (meaning HER). The bad: 1.The venue has a food court located where the outlet stores are that has mediocre, over-priced food but ALL of Chef Emeril's marvelous restaurants can only be accessed through the casino. Since my granddaughter and her boyfriend are both 18, we couldn't get to any of his wonderful restaurants to eat Emeril's delicious food because anyone under 21 is not even allowed to walk through the casino. DUMB design, Sands Casino! 2. Adam didn't sing TISI. :-( The ugly: Those two women seated behind us who demanded that we "SIT DOWN" (which we did) but then they tried to get ME to tell the people in front of me to sit down too. Since I REFUSED to do that, the 2 women went up the aisle and demanded that folks in front of us sit down too or they were going to call security. Soooo, we got to see the show but we could NOT stand up during the concert. Grrrr!!! At the end of the concert, I finally stood up to give Adam and his band and dancers a standing ovation.

Thanks, Msloyalfan, for your great review. Sorry, I did not get to meet you, did not know you were there. We really need to do a better job at using those concert threads, instead of finding out too late. Anyhow, it amazes me how different your experience was. I can totally imagine that, given the size of this place, though. In the end, the atmosphere in the 4-5 rows surrounding us tends to define our experience, and if you sit somewhere else, you get a totally different experience. But I see you also loved the sound there. Sorry you had such trouble with a few stinkers in the row behind you. That sucks. Btw, we ate at that Emeril Burger place. The price was Emeril, the quality was ok, but nothing special. You did not miss anything. There is also another restaurant there, that was a bit more upscale, so maybe that is better, but with the burger place, you should not feel like you missed out. Hope that makes you feel better. Oh, and thanks for mentioning the swooning over high notes. That was so true, both for Alex as well as Adam. Kinda funny. Adam can sing beautiful legato pieces for minutes on end - no major reaction, just listening. Then comes the high note, which yesterday he mostly pulled up with a wail, rather than jump up to those notes, but then he stayed on those high notes for a long time, and the crowd was going wild. Idol damaged, I suppose. And yes, I would have loved TISI and the other few songs too, but at least I knew beforehand, which helped. Hope, next time, we can connect, when there is a concert somewhere around.

This will be one of the earliest starting shows I think. I have one next week at the Ryman that starts at 7:30. Maybe some here are going...I'm sure they are.... and have called the venue, etc. W/o knowing any more info....I wouldn't wait till 9. Also ask on Twitter. There are quite a few NYC fans who are going. robininny, etc.

Great review! Next time on the ugly, explain politely the etiquette at an Adam concert and if they don't listen tell them to bring it! Special snowflakes can be melted! When everyone is standing you have to have some hard self entitlement to demand people do what you want!

Thanks, I think I may have seen the last paragraph quoted before but didn't read the whole thing. Yeppers he was a guitarist playing for gutarists. Makes him good and that he broadened himself to be able to play all different categories. He's like the ear piece sound guy - do things special for Adam.

Thanks for the recap, msloyalfan... So stupid about the restaurants that cannot be entered by under 21's due to the casino laws.
