I have a veil - Interesting terminology. My first thought was middle eastern burkas. It's not a word a lot of people use other than at weddings. But it does lead to him pulling it back/off or letting us through or see through. I'm not sure why the present tense of "have" vs "had". The "I will Entertain you" is such a throwback to his very first single. Very deliberate. Also interesting that it starts out with his high head voice. He has learned that falsetto is not his forte, not when he can effortlessly drop an octave on the "welcome part" I'm always hesitant on his high voice as it is harder to tell gender but it's Adam, he does accept femininity. Also a back and forth between "Them and You" It's not consistent and don't know why it isn't one way or the other but it keeps you guessing and is perhaps part of the dichotomy he must feel between them in the distance and you much closer. Which should he treat his audience or his glamberts like? In the song it's a conscious decision to treat us as "you" so the closer version and not the faceless mass of "them". He opens up to the two of us and unhides from the veil. I like the parts in the middle where they both start and end each other sentences and sometimes even don't end sentences at all. And always perfect to have Adam as the high backup. No idea whatsoever on radio suitability. I'm not sure veil is used as a noun here though, but as a verb......to hide the real nature of; mask; disguise. As for the back and forth between them and you ,and why it is not one way or the other............... this is a song....... these are lyrics...... they don't have to be anything but what the writer wants them to be.

My thoughts are still spinning around after listening to this song ,in its entirety, only 3 times. Emotional overload, wanting Adam to be above all else, HAPPY. Yet these lyrics are so profound, and after listening to each and every song he has ever sung over the past 7+ years, watching his videos and interviews from all over the world, I feel like he has finally opened up his heart, mind and soul and threw it all right out there in front of us---while embracing us still, even in his utmost solitude and isolation.
I can't decipher the quality of the music---I only know that his voice brings me to a higher place---and the combination of the music and lyrics is something I can't really find words to describe. That's probably why I'm circumventing any critique of this song. I will leave that to others, since I only want to gratefully accept the beautiful gift that this young man is to the world-and to me. As we all know, Brian said it best,"He is a gift to the world." In his own quiet moments, I truly hope that Adam finds his space to love and live the life he wants. He certainly deserves that and if he were my son, that would be my humble {and aching} prayer.
