OT, but quite interesting. In an open letter avicii ends his musical career... Good for him. Wonder if it will stick? So many artists retire then come back (some multiple times). Am sure is hard thing to walk wash from. My bet is a few years down the road, we'll start seeing him appearing in new music again!

Putting his phone number out there is really VERY strange. At first I thought his account was hijacked...

Putting his phone number out there is really VERY strange. At first I thought his account was hijacked... It could be real. For Avicii I hope it is real. Regroup, take time, find out where your creativity leads you instead of where the music business leads you. The weird phone number thing makes me think though, it is April's Fools Day on Friday. The music business is such a strange thing. I presume most people enter it because they want to make music (and yeah, acquiring fame and fortune probably plays a role too with most of them). Then when they are in the artist has to balance so many different aspects. Fans, touring, making new music, money, business, PR, hiring people, legal stuff, staying creative, taking care of yourself, enjoying yourself, getting your music out, different creative visions, people who have opinions about what you should and shouldn't do, ideas or singles that don't work out, dealing with sudden success, deciding which requests to accept and then giving your everything on stage. It has to be difficult to stay true to yourself if you're handling all that, or even to remember what your vision was when you were starting out.
