I think Kesha should perform a song as "the artist formerly known as Kesha" - in tribute to Prince. She is fighting a battle similar, I think, to the one Prince fought. (I can't believe Dr. Luke is preventing her from being on the show - seems cruel to me, but also - jeez - I think it just makes him look awful. Her fans must just despise him.)
I don't get what the Madonna and Prince connection would be, really. I wonder why they chose her, honestly - but I'll watch it.
As for Madonna, I think she'll do fine with the Prince thing. What eats at me is that Adam can't seem to get one these those to save his life. Not even as a presenter. I know, I know, you have to have a bunch of hit songs, etc., etc., to get on. But Kesha basically had one really hit song, Tic Tok. Her notoriety right now is her "scandal" relationship with Dr. Luke which put put her back in the spotlight and raised her celebrity value. Adam has had top selling albums. A recent song that was very strong, GT. And he has the Queen thing, too. He would totally kill at these "tribute" performances. There's got to be a moment when the PTB at these shows wake up and discover that Adam is out there dripping with talent. Not every singer who appears or sings on these shows has had tons of hit songs. Grrrrr.
Setting aside the award shows, Adam had a very high profile industry appearance headlining the David Bowie Tribute at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Party.
"Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, and more pay tribute to David Bowie on Grammys weekend"
At Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammys party Sunday night, Beck teamed with surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear for an homage performance of “The Man Who Sold the World.” The concert also served as a tribute to Kurt Cobain, who famously loved the song and recorded a cover of it with Nirvana.
Later in the evening, Bowie devotee Adam Lambert and Jack Antonoff closed the party with a performance of “Let’s Dance.”

I am not sure who I would like to see do this tribute, but I know that Madonna is wrong.

Regarding Kesha, Dr. Luke's label Kemosabe Records rescinding its approval for her after a TMZ story claimed Kesha was planning to make a statement against Gottwald (Dr. Luke) with her performance at the award show. Sources told the celebrity news site that
the singer was planning on referencing her ongoing legal battle with Gottwald and possibly bringing photos of him onstage.
Kesha said that wasn't her plan but my experience is that 1. TMZ is almost always right -- although sometimes they exaggerate.
2. Kesha has been working hard to garner public support for her "cause" to get out of her contract -- and this plays into that effort. 3. Greed has destroyed many careers and this is a lot more about money than artist freedom. 4. Dr. Luke has already lost in this fight because the public and many major artists have sided with Kesha. No one that I can think of is standing with Dr. Luke.
