CONCERT AND CO.Concert criticism Queen + Adam Lambert, Mika, Fergiewww.concertandco.com/critique/concert-queen-adam-lambert-mika-fergie//51033.htm QAL bits only from Rock in Rio review - translated from French by Google It is past midnight when arrives on scene Queen + Adam Lambert . This was my third concert with the reformation Queen + . The first time was with Paul Rodgers (singer of Free and Bad Company ), and the second, already with Adam Lambert , tadpole 30 years, resulting from the New Star American. And we must admit: the tadpole is excellent far with Paul Rodgers , I had the impression to attend the concert of a good group "tribute", but never exceeded its objective (to honor Freddie Mercury ), as Queen + Adam Lambert is a fantastic project. Adam Lambert , because of his youth, his talent (perhaps the best vocalist I could see in concert) and charisma wins the group with him. One makes tribute to the repertoire of Queen , we see a concert of Queen . Experience as it should be when the group was in its heyday. And above all, the hardest: to measure up to what a viewer imagine 2016 as the madness of a concert Queen in 1986, to live up to a fantasy. The secret of alchemy, beyond the talent the man is at the basis Queen was the combination of three rockers ( Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon ) and personality "other". Unlike Paul Rogers (which in the end was a rocker more) Adam Lambert embodies completely the next "other" eccentric, dramatic, theatrical. So we saw a great show, lively and moving. The group obviously plays much of his hits, but do not forget to sprinkle some of his set a little more obscure songs that are good fun at the old fan that I am. The staging is level, superb lighting, the audience reacts like clockwork to all songs, and is crazy about big hits. Final at Rest a little regret, a rather sad aftertaste. Brian May 70 years, Roger Taylor a little less. All these great rock groups emerged in the 60s and 70s are nearing retirement. If it is, within 5 years, many of these artists, who are part of our common heritage, able to unite three generations have disappeared. On this short list, I see the Rolling Stones for such a popular directory, fun and festive and yet be active. And the "general public" does not know the repertoire Queen is still running! The artists who created it! Last year we saw them in a Zenith in Paris sadly that sounded hollow. May and Taylor have struggled, took time to find how to continue their careers and support their work after the death of Mercury and departure retirement Deacon . But to me, Queen + Adam Lambert is no less legitimate than AC / DC with <> Axl Rose (very good concert incidentally), the Stones with the ghost of Keith Richards or the E Street Band without Clarence Clemons . And knowing that we are living the end of a generation, I am more than happy to still enjoy a little of all these groups there. But it's probably too late for them, but I would have loved to see on a tour to their height. As it stands, they could return a Stade de France or smash a Velodrome. And it will not happen ... Setlist: The Hero Hammer to Fall Seven Seas of Rhye Stone Cold Crazy Fat Bottomed Girls Play the Game Killer Queen I Want to Break Free Somebody to Love Love of My Life These Are the Days of Our Lives Drum Battle Under Pressure Crazy Little Thing Called Love do not Stop me Now Another One Bites the Dust I Want It All Who Wants to Live Forever Last Horizon Guitar Solo Tie Your Mother Down The Show Must Go On Bohemian Rhapsody Encore: Radio Ga Ga We Will Rock You We Are the Champions God Save The queen Note: There are 2 video clips on the site that I couldn't bring over.

I'm curious why QAL didn't sell out Cologne, some saying far from selling out, many empty seats, etc, especially since this was their only show in Germany... is Queen not as big in Germany as other places in Europe? Is it QAL fatigue? Or something else? Similar question was brought up by cassie a few concerts ago about reports that some of the concerts were not selling well, but no one responded, so thought I'd ask again. Given the weather I wouldn't judge degree of sales by empty seats. Some of those seats might have sold but been empty due to people choosing not to brave the weather.
