I'd bet my house that if he could choose between queen and a top 10 hit, he'd dump queen in a heartbeat I would bet everything I own that he fuckin loves the diversity of his career! And would be bored silly doing one thing! (I actually think he has said this more than once)

Well....he doesn't have to choose does he. He can have his cake and eat it too...along with hopefully tons of new projects/endeavors. He's both an artist and a performer. QAL has provided enormous exposure, lots of positive press and tons of self confidence boosters....plus $$$ which is a definite plus as he pursues his solo stuff. ETA: I'm so glad he finds Sharka's digital drawing hilarious.....and not awesome or inspiring...lol. Sharka is so creative and what an imagination. Hmmmm....wonder "biblically speaking" if that Jesus Christ Superstar musical is ever in the back of his mind...or if he has moved on to ...only an original made for Adam play. Adam could pull off a pretty good beard for just such a role, with a few months of time. I may not love it but for any chance of a role in tv or cinema...I would be on board ( biker, western etc etc) Ps....I noticed on May 30 in the Twitter feed below the thread ...that Sharka did a cute drawing of TJR. I do check Tommy's Twitter feed every once in awhile. Instead of me wondering how he is making out/what he is up to...could someone pm me if you know. Thanks

I'd bet my house that if he could choose between queen and a top 10 hit, he'd dump queen in a heartbeat I tend to agree. He's had some strong songs of his own but he still hasn't gotten that #1 mega-hit that sustains for a long time, that song that is heard everywhere for months and months, the song that everyone knows, whether they're an Adam fan or not. We're all praying that this will happen. And he's in a much better place, solo-wise than he was a few years ago. I think "dump" isn't quite the right word about what he would do about Queen, but he sure would be in a much better place if he got his own solo mega-hit. His solo career is his meat and potatoes; his work with Queen is an exquisite dessert that he can enjoy whenever asked. What a position for a singer to be in! Most singers would kill to have such an opportunity. Queen has given him tons of credibility in the music world, both among general fans and among music professionals. It will be interesting if we see Adam and Sauli together in Helsinki. We all go nuts when we see them together. I would assume Sauli will go to the concert. He usually does. Then he and Adam can have their own after-party. LOL Just adding to my own thoughts again after reading some other responses. I have to revise my theory that he would leave Queen if he got a huge hit. I don't think he would even consider severing ties with Queen. Ever. First of all, Brian and Roger are older guys and will not be performing many years from now. Adam has a window of time, as Brian alluded to, to perform with one of the world's greatest bands. He'll take all the glory and recognition from that opportunity that he can get, and deservedly so. I don't think he'll ever have to choose "one or the other." I think both worlds will be open to him, as long as Queen lasts. Lucky for everyone involved.

Aren't there artists who got their #1 megahit and/or much more commercial success than Adam but can't fill venues world-wide as a headliner well as Adam? Ones I can think of off-hand are Carly Rae Jepson and Tove Lo (#3 with Habits). I remember I was really surprised when Gavin deGraw and David Cook's theatre sized tour didn't sell that well despite Gavin having two top 10 pop hits.
I personally think standing in for who many think is the world's greatest front man gives him a lot of credibility. And it helped him make $10 million in one year giving him the distinction of being the highest earning idol that year, even beating out Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. That had to have shut up the haters who kept saying he was a flop and his 15 minutes are up.
There are Queen fans who say Adam is nothing without Queen or that he's riding on their coat tails but that is definitely not true. He's been fairly successful touring solo. From Glam Nation, he earned $6 million in 2011. That is nothing to sneeze at.
