3ku, FYE was the first single from FYE! OH yeah that's right haha. My point was I am sure Adam has a say in what is released. i just think logisitcially their are other factors at play. WBR were not t fault for ALN not benefiting from GT momentum. IT did well in streaming, and was a Club Dance hit. I just think it was the wrong song. Alot of great songs do not become hits. It is down to a lot of luck and the current climate. I just don't agree it means WBR is anything like RCA. I mean Adam had like 3 or 4 singles in TP era. And RCA diddn't push anything. GT was a HUGE hit for Adam. Has over 132 million streams on Spotify, that puts Adam in the big leagues the Perrys e.t.c. I just think for whatever reason WBR decided to move on from TOH era. We all know Adam is working on a Fourth LP. So that well be the focus from the point on. None of the other songs from TOH were gaining any traction on streaming so in today's climate it makes sense not to beat a dead horse trying to push any of them. I think in today's climate we aren't going to see WBR pushing something to radio that is not getting a decent response on streaming. That is the new reality. ALN had some radio success here and in a few other places but the streaming never really picked up the way that GT did so no reason for them to pour money into pushing it. If TOH had gotten a better response in the places it was released they may have continued with it but nothing was taking off there so better to wait for a song that really connects than push something that isn't. They never sent WTTS to radio but it did show up on a bunch of streaming playlists and it didn't really take off the way GT did so they just let it ride. I think WBR is being really smart and taking a long view rather than trying to milk one particular project.

I can't believe it, that would make WBR no better than RCA. GT did good, so when they saw ALN is going nowhere, they should've swiftly moved on to the next single, instead of lingering on and on. I thought they signed Adam because they believed he can be a huge star if they just put in the initial effort. BTW, ALN was a very strange choice for 2nd single IMO. I wish I knew on what basis it was chosen. Adam said dozens of times that he chose GT to be the 1st single, so I trust that even if it isn't his choice to make, he was 100% behind it. But I don't remember him ever saying that he wanted ALN to be the 2nd single. Obviously he wanted TOH to be a single, or he wouldn't have named the album after it. MM and Shellback thought the song was so good, they decided they wanted to work with Adam based on that song. So why WBR wouldn't believe it can be a huge hit is beyond me. Unless there are still plans for the album that we don't know about. Lol I am sorry but that is riduclous. WBR is no where near RCA Lvl. RCA never had any investment in Adam at all. They diddn't put any investment in any of his singles. You can at least say they put tons of inventment in GT, and it becme a big hit. IT is not WBR or Adams fault that ALN diddn't catch on. When a song is choosen to be a follow up single, it is not always up to the artist. Alot of factors come into play. The fact it did not resonate does not mean WBR are not invested in Adam, it was just bad timing. And I Don't agree that just because Adam made TOH the name of the album, that he wanted it as a single. FYE was the name of his first album, and it wasen't 2nd single even. ALN diddn't go no where it was doing very well in streams, and moderate airplay internationally. Just because it diddn't become the hit GT did, does not mean they should of moved on Their was no reason to. I Ithink your giving Adam way too much credit, WBR were HUGE part of the relaunching of Adams recording career. Actually, RCA invested a lot in Adam and treated him quite well until the senior management changed. That was before Trespassing was released. And the first 2 years of his post-Idol career were really mangled by 19 Management. It makes no sense for any label or artist (and yes, the money spent on radio promo comes out of Adam's royalties) to invest money promoting a song to radio when it is not selling. Even GT which had a lot of radio promo, lagged behind songs with similar airplay on US iTunes. It is harder to identify what is driving streaming but the genres of music that Adam releases, tend to perform best in streaming media. WB has really focused a lot of effort on promoting Adam's music in digital space -- and it seems to have worked.

I think they are playing the long game.

DSMN is one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I think it suits Adam perfectly well and it always brings back those happy New Years Eve memories when Adam literally killed it with that strong opening.
