Our Adam is nothing if not honest!! And, it would seem, a damn good actor. How many of our hearts broke for him as we watched the "I Can't Make You Love Me" video? He is so open about everything, and though there are a couple sad things in it, this article will have me smiling all day...

St. Anthony of Padua is my mom's favorite saint - fondly calls him "Tony". Imagine her joy when we stopped in Padua on our way to Venice. It was an unscheduled stop so we did not have any hotel reservations. We asked around and someone pointed us to an address which turned out to be a private residence. The lovely family rented us rooms for the night and we had dinner with them. What a treat it was and super delicious. Nothing like experiencing Padua at this level. We walked around town after dinner and it was hot (we were there in July) and people were still at the piazza at midnight. Such friendly people with a zest for life.
The Basilica was beautiful. Mom cried with tears of joy - she was in Tony's house. Although she will be 99 in August and her memory is not what it used to be (will be traveling to Manila again to celebrate), she still remembers that trip. We have taken her on many trips but this one stood out for her.
I hope Adam and Queen take the time to see this small but beautiful city. It is no Venice but I am glad we stopped.

Oh..how special that must have been for all of you. Your mother is 99..wow...so wonderful! And how great that you will be going back to Manila to celebrate again. Just beautiful.
