Not trying to start a political discussion but since Adam tweeted about the RNC and because the use of Queen music there has been an issue, I wanted to pass on some amazing and good news. Peter Thiel, PayPal co-founder, Facebook boardmember, hedge fund/investment manager, and openly gay LGBT advocate is speaking in prime time, on the prime night, about how the Republic Party should support LGBT rights. He is only the second openly gay person to speak at a Republican convention, and the first person to address this issue. (The first openly gay personal to speak at the RNC was Rep. Jim Kolbe from Arizona who did not mention being gay.) He said he was proud to be gay -- and he got a standing ovation and cheers. Positive change is possible. ETA: He also said, "fake culture wars distract us from us from our economic decline." He is also for reasons beyond understanding vocally supporting HeWhoCannot amed much to consternation of many of his peers... www.huffingtonpost.com.au/entry/peter-thiel-HeWhoCannot amed-tech-industry_us_579121a8e4b00c9876ce9bf1?section=

Just watched the new RHPS preview & I agree - adding the element of the theatrical production (audience participation) is actually a brilliant idea. It makes this new interpretation feel less like a copy of the untouchable original but also adds credibility by honoring the stage show that has become so important to the RHPS/RHS legacy. I fell in love with the movie when I was first introduced to it in about 7th grade & I've been to several hella fun stage productions... I can't wait to see how this new amalgam turns out. And I REALLY can't wait to hear Adam's song.

I can't reconcile the anti-union themes versus helping veterans. My son is finally on his financial feet after being called up to active duty and deployed to Kuwait. He got into the union last December on a helmets to hardhats program. Even though he's an apprentice in the system, he now has decent pay, and health benefits and pension benefits. Is no one thinking this through before creating a platform against unions? Sorry for the political rant, but there may not be a lot of you all with children who did go to serve and who have had the same experience.

I do not say they are wrong, but there are many gay Republicans and they need a role model too. So good on Peter Thiel for that.

And I REALLY can't wait to hear Adam's song. I got to see the Broadway production. So I did have the original theatrical production back in the 70s. That was before the movie. The set looks a lot like the "fabulous Belasco Theater" set up. There was floor seating, my date and I were up in the mezzanine. Eddie rode his motorcycle around a track at mid level. The floor seating was for cocktails and bites.

Although it is hard to tell exactly, it looks like RHPS is set up, for at least some scenes, on a stage much like the original version of the show and will include some of the audience participation that has developed with the movie version. The participation responses, both verbal and physical, are an enormous part of the enduring legacy of RHPS. If they do this, I think it will be BRILLIANT and add an aspect to the show that has never been seen except by diehard fans. It will endear the show to those fans as well! Yes-I was happily surprised by this as well.

This video is OT but thought some of you might enjoy it! Adam connection -- Adam does not like cats or working out, but he might like the model! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxb8WH0hoN8

I think this person's talking about Peter Thiel Orlando Jones @theorlandojones 30m30 minutes ago Overheard at #RNCinCLE "I mean, he's going to hell for his lifestyle but we should clap now, right? Probably but the vast majority gave him a standing ovation and that is something I never expected to see.
