If I get the premise of this ..swapping would be unavoidable. A judge could fill the 3 chairs yet still have new contestants to view performing. So swapping is the harsh reality ---that a minute ago I was in the competition and now I am out as the newer performer outperformed Me. I doubt he would wait until the last person to fill the third chair. Ladyoz could clarify the premise of swapping --- if she can talk about that point.
stampsgal your explanation of the seat challenge is spot on ...
X-Factor.au started auditioning last year all around the country for the 2016 Show.
Because of the Olympics in Rio, the format and number of shows to be aired has been revised.
The ones that made it through the preliminary auditions were then sent before the judges for the AUDITIONS taped the end of June and early July (I didn’t attend these) We will eventually see these shows (or edited versions of them).
Then there was Boot Camp … I don’t know the format of this or whether we will see all contestants but I do know the judges referred a lot to the ACAPPELLA round - **that’s when Adam laughingly said he first threw his shoe down to one of his under 22’s and hit them by mistake** I’m pretty sure they’ll be airing these as the judges reference often that it was the acappella audition that catapulted the contestant to the Chair Challenge.
The sessions I attended were the Chair Challenges and yes the SWAP was used often by all the judges….
Adam had 12 contestants who made it through to this stage … he only had 3 chairs (positions) to take to the live shows where they will compete against the Over 22’s and Groups (total overall is 9 performers****) on weekly shows .
A TWIST ??? **** when the Chair Challenge was being explained by the Floor Director to the Audience ( getting a seat and being swapped out if outperformed & the last 3 go through), there was always an odd footnote which hinted that “ the final 3 “FOR NOW” go through to the live shows … but be ready for a SURPRISE!! ****
So, how many total shows will air this season? Once or twice a week? There have to be at least two devoted to the auditions, right? One devoted to boot camp? Two? I figure three focused on the seat challenges. Then, the elimination rounds for the final 9 contestants. Nine episodes? Or will there be double eliminations? I am thinking at least 13 episodes. Thirteen chances to see Adam charm everyone in the TV audience. Thirteen hours featuring Adam. I am soooo excited!

Well I know they usually have an hour and a half opening episode. And usually hour eps of auditions. SO that is like 5 eps of Adam most likely. Then the other stuff, so 13 sounds right. But i am sure the person who was their well know more then I haha.

Why would they force the young man or anyone to sing an Adam song with him sitting right there? Unless that was something someone wanted to do that alone would be enough to make me screw it up, lol.

I wish something huge would happen in Adamland, so that my tweeter feed would be back to Adam centric rather than flooded with elections stuff...hope to get a break on August 4th...but still over 3 months of hell to live through... Not everything political is depressing -- here is something good. twitter.com/VP/status/760250205191012352

Does anyone know of any videos that really showcase Adam's dancing ability as well as his voice? I am planning on sending some links to some dancer friends who don't know much about Adam at all. Some videos show him pretty close up so you can't see his entire dance moves. So far I was thinking of sending the Ghost Town from South Korea, as well as the Let's Dance from there since he does a pirouette. I remember flailing over his dancing in several TOH shows but now I just can't recall which ones they were. Thanks so much.

You should get one of the first tour when he & Brooke would dance with each other, haha. Lots of gold from that tour, dance-wise.

There has got to be a great one of the LMD/Shady/Fever set with Adam in the white tie-die outfit that really shows off his body to perfection. Let me look. Come get me in a couple of days if I don't show up :D
