Actually most fan bases are the same: there is only one of whoever they are fans of.

Actually most fan bases are the same: there is only one of whoever they are fans of. And they are right, because all artists are unique. There is only one. We'll also say there is only one Adam Lambert and that also is true. The stupid thing however is that everybody is so protective of the material of those artists. Like these songs are only created to be sung by that one artist and no-one else can do it. Also people always compare as they have the original in their mind. It's like people say someone is singing off key when they use a different pitch for the song. The performance on it's own can be perfect, but as we have the original in our mind it sounds different and wrong. It's a bit silly that there are so many comments on that FB about how bad Adam is and that he should never have sung a GM song while it is the official GM FB that posted the article. They wouldn't have posted it if they weren't honored that Adam sung the song I think. Maybe we can interpreted some of those comments also as a compliment for Adam in the sense that the fans could feel threatened by Adam's performance and that he might do even better than GM. By repeating that he is no GM they are confirming to themselves that Adam can't be as good as GM. He's a nobody so why should he. Just some musings

Good Lord, slap me for reading the comments !! Yeah, those were the worst I've seen in a long time. Only read if you have a strong stomach. Just noticed this in the comment section... "Alexander Morner I'm a huuuge fan of Adam Lambert, but this is not his best performance or cover. It's alright, but it lacks some of the ooopfh the song needs. That's alright, not every cover or performance can be amazing, I still think he did a great job just not as good as he can be, it happens sometimes"
I also remember a fan on Atop saying Adam appeared "stiff". I actually agree..that this was not Adam's best cover. I was hoping for some movement from Adam to make it more of a show versus a stand and deliver for half the song. The second half at least had some energy. That is my humble opinion. It may have helped if GM fans understood it was a tribute...not that Adam has no record deal and has no songs so chooses to cover GM. (as a few stated). The performance is over...Adam got visibility ...upward and onward.

Yep, and I was impressed with the number of people on the George Michael facebook comments post that knew he was singing with Queen too. And lots that said they liked Adam, saw him with QAL, but liked the original best. Not a surprise. Save
