Interesting, but I am not sure how reliable or accurate it is. I think it would have been better if they had used recordings of live performances rather than studio work that could have been tweaked, altered, enhanced, electronically modified, spliced... etc. etc. Not sure if having another singer imitate Freddie's sound would anatomically duplicate what Freddie was doing. What did I get overall? Freddie was a baritone, based on his speaking voice. He had a funky vibrato that varied greatly and was inconsistent in its speed and "wobbliness." I would expect that in a singer without formal, classical training. Freddie had a wide range of pitch from bottom to top, tho' they did not separate out which sounds were produced in chest register, full-voice, head voice, or falsetto. But some of the notes attributed to the top of Freddie's range could not be accepted as actually sung by Freddie. The discussion of the analysis of his "rough" sounding tone seemed to me to point to vocal habits that probably contributed to the long term damage of his voice.... they didn't say it, but that's what I pieced from the data. Or, I could have misunderstood 90% of what I read. After reading it, tho', my reaction was.... "And your point is?????"
