I assume you aren't Jewish Oracle? pilgrimage Translate Button [pil-gruh-mij] noun 1. a journey, especially a long one, made to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion: If he visited Israel exclusively for that reason then, yes, I would call it a pilgrimage. Calling his visit a pilgrimage is hyperbole imo

Time Out Hong Kong: Interview: Adam Lambert, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen
14 SEPTEMBER2016 WRITTEN BY Josy
Interview: Adam Lambert, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen
"It's amazing to be playing in China. Previously we could not. We were not culturally desirable. "
Prepare to tie your mothers down [ they bind their mothers], Hong Kong. Queen is coming to the city. Probably the biggest band in history will be presented at AsiaWorld-Expo on 28 September as part of his Asian tour that will also to Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China. This is the first time that the group, the super-hits creators as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You", will perform in Hong Kong - or China, by the way, will also have a show in Shanghai - and should be a certainly royal performance.
Unfortunately, Freddie Mercury died some time and bassist John Deacon will not be here, but one of the legends of the guitar, Brian May, leading the band along with superstar drummer Roger Taylor. And they joined with Adam Lambert, who shared the first stage with May and Taylor in the final of "American Idol" in May 2009, a program he participated. The team has already presented more than 70 sold out shows together around the world in recent years, taking an amazing play of light and special effects with them. Expect the same experience multisensory with the same sense of nostalgia, the same choruses sung together and the same amazing solos of May. But we did not say it was Taylor, Lambert and the god of the guitar.
So we will perform in our city for the first time ... Taylor: It's fantastic. We are very excited to be going to Hong Kong for the first time. We had never played in China and never in Hong Kong. We're looking forward to it, we are very interested to see the reaction there and also very optimistic. It should be a great show. I visited Hong Kong in the past and I had amazing experiences there, so I'm really excited. May: It's amazing. It is extraordinary that we never had direct contact with China for all these years. We have fans there and we never know them. It's amazing we are able to really go there now. It was not possible before. We wanted to go, but I think culturally we noes were acceptable at the time.
This is really a pleasure for us. In fact, this Asian tour is a sequence of the last tour you at festivals throughout Europe. How is touring again? Taylor: Yes, we had an amazing tour in Europe. We did, I think, 15 shows in 15 different countries and were all fabulous. It's great - with Adam Lambert we kind of found a new lease of life. He is a perfect fit for us. And it's a singer and incredibly talented performer.
Adam Lambert actually has been to Hong Kong before ... Taylor: Yes. He says it's great. He says "I love China." He obviously had a good time there ....
But now he's here for the first time with the Queen. What Adam added the band since the sad death of Freddie in 1991? May: The thing is that it is not Freddie Mercury. It need not be Freddie Mercury. Not a Freddie imitation in any way. Adam has an extraordinary instrument - the more wonderful than you could find in this world. There is no discussion about it. It also has ability with the audience. He has a natural way with the audience. He is an entertainer. Taylor: It has a lot in common with Freddie Mercury. He has an incredible sense if humor, which is very important, and he has this incredible vocal range. These two things make it a perfect fit for the Queen. Me and Brian were not expecting still working under the Queen brand, but this is our fourth or fifth tour with [Lambert] and found ourselves that we are absolutely loving it.
We should really ask the question about putting on Freddie's shoes for you, Adam. What is the hardest part of doing the parts of Freddie? Lambert: I think the hardest part was finding a balance between making music as my and honor the original recording. But over the last few years it has become much easier to do because, I think, now the music is kind of part of my body.
When you were young, how important was the Freddie and Queen music for you? Lambert: Well, I did not know the Queen until I was a little older. I heard the big hits when I was a kid, but I did not really understand who they were as a band. So with twentysomething, I really dedicated myself to music and studied bands. And there was the Queen, I saw them performing on stage, with shorts and no shoes. They were on fire and I was thinking "wow - they are rock stars"
Adam is a great addition to the band, so ... May: He is a great person to work with , which is vital because you can not make a world tour with someone you do not like. He has this fancy thing too. He has this tasty type of light that warms people and it really fits us as well because we spend so much time with Freddie, who also had this kind of light. So here we are! Finally we can make the Queen song. This works and makes people happy. So we decided that we will do this again.
And now you can do it here ... May: And now able to do this in China is something incredible. I mean, once we could come here. We could not. We were not culturally desirable. Then 69 years old, this is the first time. It is something extraordinary. Yes, I've never been in Hong Kong, but I have some friends in Hong Kong.
From here, there is a plan to go into the studio together make a new album Queen? Taylor: I think we should actually. I do not know why we have not got it. Of course, Adam has a solo career pretty busy, but I think we should. But I do not think people should expect radically innovative things. We could make brilliant songs with Adam. We should do.
No concrete plans yet, then? Taylor: No concrete plan. I think we're actually a bit lazy ...
Make the setlist today is quiet for you or it is difficult to go back through everything and mount one? Taylor: It is very difficult and it changes according to the country that we're playing, knowing that some songs are particularly popular or some songs are successes in some places and not so much in others, so we moved and we vary our content.
And how do you know that will play for the first time somewhere influence that decision? Taylor: Well I think we would think the songs that were international hits and that people should know. I do not know, it will be interesting to see the reaction of people [in Hong Kong]. I do not know how the people there react in concerts like ours. But we always worry.
So, in a nutshell, what is music to you? May: What is music for me? Life. Without music, I have no life. I need music and love. Lambert: Music is my life! My career. My passion. And my medicine, you know, if I'm having a bad day and I put a song, I feel better. When I'm tired, music gives me energy. Music is so incredibly powerful.
Bright. Thank you! Finally, then, now that the shows live from Queen + Adam Lambert has been done for a number of years, what the future holds? Lambert: I really do not know how long this will last, but there is no reason to stop. There are many people around the world and we love to present these songs to them! It's great. It's very emotional.

Calling his visit a pilgrimage is hyperbole imo I had a problem with what appeared to me to be a lack of respect for the religious meaning of his visit not the term pilgrimage which I agree isn't particularly accurate. The religious meaning to you? Because, not one of us knows whether this visit held religious meaning for him. All we know for sure is what we see in the pictures and words he has used in the past. He has always stated he is not a practising Jew and he is not religious. The word he uses is 'spiritual'. So with no disrespect intended, someone's opinion might be that this was a spiritual experience rather than a religious experience. This would be my opinion.
