LOL! He cracks himself up with his riffing! In several recent videos I have seen Adam crack himself up. My impression is that he does this intentionally, as a part of the total act. He tends to do it when he has just done something outrageously over-the-top. At times of super-camp, ultra-haughtiness, or insanely OTT vocals. It is his cue to the audience that he KNOWS what he just did was ridiculous. "I'm being absurd to the extreme, and isn't it fun?! Don't take me seriously, because I don't." Without the little "wink-wink, nod-nod, giggle" some audience members would think, "He's too swishy, or too pompous, or too arrogant, or too much of a show-off." When Adam cracks himself up, they realize, "Oh, it's an act. A show. It's theater. It's fun, and I can play along." It also, in that split second, reveals, "Hey, I'm just a normal guy like you, playing dress-up and having the time of my life." Brilliant showmanship! Ia. I noticed that right from idol tour days. After giving the mic stand a thorough humping, he'd roll his eyes and throw his head back laughing
