I don't think Adam and Sam will do a vocal collaboration either. But I would love to see Adam do some less dance oriented tunes for his next album (love his EDM collab features tho). Some Fallout Boy, Imagine Dragon, or One Republic type songs. Adam can out sing and out perform all, Imo. Something a little more rockish without full on rock and some great ballads where he can let it rip. This could get him some nominations and wins if he starts competing against the adult males instead of those kids and ladies who dominate pop. Fallout Boy type acts get nominations outside of pop tho they cross over and get a lot of pop radio play, sometimes going to the top of those charts. The best of both worlds. Of course, I will be on board with whatever he decides to do. I understand why you want those things. Yet I have a feeling that Adam thinks otherwise and he's hopefully in full control on what will be on his album. We'll see what he comes up with. I've been listening to his Spotify songs this evening. Just put the Spotify Sessions on and let it play. It's a road back in time with TOH album and then the TP remixes. I never heard most of those remixes yet, but those are pretty sick remixes! In a good way. Those don't withstand in any club even now. Also the start of the GN live album is one big remix with very high dance influences. It's been part of his music and his preferences all the time it seems. ETA: By the way I'm 34 and I love those dance music songs. Really enjoyed those remixes. But I did have my music education in the 90's which was heavily influenced with happy hardcore, eurodance, trance and a lot of those genres here in the Netherlands. I also love a great ballad though and I also love Queen. So I'm about fine with everything! As long as he doesn't record Ski Hut music I'm fine.

"There have been some beautiful songs on his albums. I could scream when I think of what didn't get promoted on Trespassing. There are some really wonderful songs on that and it is still the one I listen to the most."
gypsyladee, I agree with you 100%. There is some good stuff on all his album. But most of the interviews only talked about dance. If you are over 30 and not living in LA or NY you are probably past the days of hanging out in the clubs. I think there is an audience out there who would not know he had some really great songs in addition to dance and exercise tunes (which I also loved, btw). I think it is pretty obvious that Adam will do whatever he wants, lol.

A collaboration between Sam Smith and Adam would be excellent -- and I think a songwriting collaboration, not a vocal collaboration is more possible. And that would be great for Adam and A4 promo. I have a hard time trying to imagine a vocal collaboration, but some kind of mid-tempo neo-sould ballad co-written by Adam and Sam -- that I can imagine easily. As I've commented/complained about any thought of a vocal collaboration with SS over the past few days, I have to agree with you that a songwriting collaboration could work - it's not Sam's songs I have a problem with, it's his voice ;P .The publicity machine certainly seems to be at work suggesting that something is going on! When is SS's sophomore album due? Although I don't think a actual vocal collab will happen, I think it could work. Over the years, many singers with very different types of voices have done duets, often with great results. Adam and Sam have totally different voices and styles, but that doesn't mean they couldn't record a really good song together that would compliment both their voices. I'll hold onto the hope that there COULD be a writing collab between them at some point. Sam gets lots of promo and media attention. Any kind of collab with him would be great for Adam.

But as with most albums, most of it never gets heard by a broad audience. Trespassing was a complete gem of an album. Adam is capable of finding a sound that both appeals to him and to a broad base of listeners. It takes the exact right song at the exact right time with exact right exposure. Meanwhile, he's taking advantage of XF and RHPS to keep him out there beyond the singing. That could be a key part of his future in the industry. Diversify. Keep his face and personality out there. Charm the pants off everyone who sees him.
