I am back from the VR viewing, very happy I went! My friend and I arrived there at around noon, got on a very short line just to find out that every VR set runs one designated program, so only two ran VR The Champions which was the longest there at 15 mins for the 3 songs, plus the few mins of the set up time. They "registered" us and said we'll get the text once it's our turn. They did say this was their most popular option, I was #9, so as you can guess the whole affair was quite low key. The people on the line were mostly passers by - the place is the major downtown Manhattan transportation hub and right by the World Trade Center and the WTC memorial (which is a must for the visitors/tourists). After waiting close to an hour we were finally called in and once the gear was adjusted and focused I found myself floating above the stage with Adam right in front of me, but to my disappointment he and everything around was quite pixellated. Nothing could be done about that so I decided to "look around" and WOW! I was looking at the audience doing the Radio Gaga clap from the center of the stage! And then Adam passed right by me, looked me in the eye and went down into the audience, I could see all the ecstatic faces of the lucky peeps grabbing his hand! lol! The next up was WWRY with me hanging just over Roger and Rufus doing the intro! Good thing I knew to look to the right to catch Adam coming out straight at me in all his glittery glory! EYE CONTACT! I was floating around the stage, going behind Adam, getting good look at the audience, peeking in at Adam's and Brian's interaction from right above their heads... Then WATC, again with direct eye contact, Adam was really playing to the camera! And in the end the immersion into the golden rain! After I was done I asked the tech re poor resolution and the so-so sound: it turns out they were using a low end Samsung Gear VR with Samsung S7 phone, which produced a 480p at best, which to me it looked more like a 240p-360p quality. Now I know that IF i do buy a set it would need to be high end goggles with software running on a powerful pc or a game station...or wait till the phones will be able to produce a better quality experience. I have to say that being able to have a full view in ANY direction is AMAZING! With HD resolution and good audio it will be an unforgettable experience! Hope one day to have a chance to see the full Barcelona show! ...oh...and as a bonus - now I am cooler than my kids - I HAVE EXPERIENCED VR and they have not! teasing my DS as we speak WOW!!! I'm so jealous!!! So glad you got to see it, and wish I was there!! I hope we will be able to buy this, too.

I keep wondering if Davey (the dark horse) might win. He is very likable as a regular Aussie guy, has a great backstory, and I thought his original audition song was pretty good. I have no idea who is watching XF and who is voting but I can see Davey appealing to a certain type of voter. I can tell you it's highly unlikely the aussie "pub rocker" demographic is watching x factor... however there are plenty of people who are a sucker for a good backstory and an ok voice. If talent wins it will be Isaiah or Amelia, if pretty boy wins it will be Vlado (and don't forget speed dialing teenage girls can ruin everything), if everyman wins it will be Davey. I doubt that the performances will make that much difference - Vlado doing Thriller anyone... invested voters have probably already decided who they want to support.

Ps. Happy for you to get that eye contacts Nica.. LOL. and thank you for the technical information of IT, so we know what to look for and to get when they decided to release it to public.
