Not sure where Q3 is today. She didn't ask me to do the thread. Hopefully she is just busy. I am putting my house to rights after having 14 for dinner and my son and his crazy dog here. :D

I'm not sure why it's doom and gloom. Yes Adam has sold more single and album sales I. The US. But he has not performed on a major us award show since the Amas in 2009. Streams, Sales etc. Adam has not had a Gt lvl of success in US as he did Oz. I think some just want him to get more recognition in the states. I agree he is very successful in the states. But it's true he has done better in foreign markets. Award show wise especially. So I don't think it's doom and gloom. Can't always be positive. I think it's important to focus on the past mistakes so you can understand the climate. Like I said timing.

Lol, I think we have the doom and gloom conversation every time our guy takes about a 5 minute break....we're sure he'll never work again. And then, voila...here comes the next project. Like little kids, we don't do well left to our own devices lol

Australia seems simpler. You get to #1 in iTunes for most of the week and you are #1 in the chart. Getting to #1 in iTunes in Australia only needs about 2k buy's though as in the US you need about 19,000. These are estimates by the way. I get them from here: www.digitalsalesdata.com/diydsd.php?Region=143441Ghost Town might not have been a huge hit in the US, but it had longevity. It went recurrent on the radio list and that only managed a couple of songs. It got to Gold with 500,000 shipments. And yes he can do better. Of course. He can do better here as well. But we shouldn't talk like he hasn't achieved anything and get all sad about that. As for the awards shows: he's been out of the country quite some in the last 2 years. I'm not sure if he wasn't asked for some. Plus those award shows are for the JB's and TS's of this world. I'm not sure if Adam actually fits in that category.

The final of the UK X Factor is a big show - usually at Wembley Arena (where QAL played in 2015 - not Wembley Stadium).....finalists do a duet with big name stars. (edit: duh! this year in Fountain Studios, Wembley) weekend 10th/11th Dec. Saara is doing very well in the contest. She has an amazing voice - beautiful.... She is gathering popularity, helped I think because she is very sweet and a little eccentric....and Simon LOVES her. Think Matt Terry will win but Saara could well make the final which has three contestants (i think). As of today there are six left. So perhaps it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that Simon might invite Adam to sing with her - they would be well matched duet partners and Adam must be in Simon's good books after his tour de force in Aus. And Adam isn't unknown on the UK X Factor after singing with Queen on the show just before the London NYE thing. beautiful version of Chandelier...... Maybe next year Adam can join the XFactorUK as the underdog judge, if there's something like that in UK..

As remember it from the past years, Q3 has always been very busy in Thanksgiving cooking and entertaining . So hopefully that's the reason for her absent.

I guess it's because some of Adam fans want Adam has a success of Katy Perry or Gaga or Bruno Mars or Pink or Kelly Clarkson/Carrie and other pop stars that keep on gracing the Award shows. Because some of us feels he deserves to have that kind of success. Yes I want that kind of success for Adam as well. But I think this kind of success needs a right time, the right song and a lot of luck. However I think a lot of of singers in the US that has a lot of songs on the radio and sings on Award shows, would love to have Adam's international appeal/success. That's why US media and media around the world dub him as an International Superstar.

He does not and I think THAT IS the cause for some of the expressed frustrations, justified or not - depends on each person's personal perception. I see no doom and gloom expressed anywhere actually, at the same time I think we all know where Adam stands in the pop "hierarchy", and it is NOT at the top where the said JBs and TSs reside. IMO he will never get there for many different reasons but after close to 8 years of watching the "scene" I don't even think it's a "bad" thing.
